I feel like Paynes Valley went after a customer the other 2 courses don't. Buffalo Ridge is a narrow up and down second shot golf course in the Ozarks. Ozark National is a Coore Crenshaw creative design built with the land type of course with blind shots and 100 different ways to play each hole. PV is a lavish creation from a Billionaire and Tiger woods made to have fun and appeal to guys who want to play with their buddies and have a good time. Each has their appeal and the idea is you come and play all three and get 3 different experiences, which I think is pretty genius and makes the resort appeal to way more golfers than some other resorts.

I recently played Payne’s Valley and Ozarks National. ON is by far the more challenging track. PV is designed for folks to have a fun day on the course where you can enjoy the views and the golf without having to really over-think the golf course. Fairways wide enough to land a plane and the only defense are the greens which run really pure. There’s always a breeze up there. It’s definitely not seasonal. I enjoyed the course a lot.

Payne's Valley is PERFECT for what it's goal is. It's over the top and wild and made for all golfers. I'd recommend Payne's Valley to probably 95% of golfers over Ozarks National. Both are amazing, but your average golfer with a 10+ handicap is going to have way more fun at Payne's. The better golfers and GCA snobs will prefer Ozarks. Personally I love both and would choose either depending on the day. Can't lose with ANY of the courses there. All so fun.

I just got back from a golf trip to the ozarks and Big Cedar and we had handicaps from 4-25 in our group, everyone loved it. There is a lot more challenging, shot-making golf at other courses that truly test your skill within 20 mins of Big Cedar and Paynes Valley. But you can't beat the views, hospitality, and grandiosity of it all from the pro shop, trip to the first tee through the canyon, the cabin at the turn, underground cave, 19th hole... it's all memorable and worth it at least once for any golfer.

Group from the Refuge was down there in October. Overall consensus seemed to be we really liked Payne's Valley. Greens have character and mega width and angles throughout. Ozarks National was just on another level.
@jeremiahruth91248 ай бұрын
Payne's Valley does a great job of playing to everybody, and can be challenging for everybody despite the large fairways. It hosted the Missouri Am championship and in two rounds out of 120+ players only 28 finished under par. It isn't just a bombs away and hit wedge course like many make it out to be. The beauty of the course is they can set it up to be enjoyable for the normal golfer and set it up to be a challenge for the best golfers. It is very similar to another course that has unending fairways and that's Augusta National. Both courses really rely on angling yourself into the green and can protect itself very well with difficult pin locations. Both almost look too perfect like the grass was painted on the landscape. This guy must hate how picturesque Augusta is as well.
