Petitioning the course to put 4 plaques along the left cart path of that hole that read in sequence: Soly 1, Soly 4, Soly 3, Soly 2. The course should provide no additional/clarifying information.

I love the film room so much. It's so awesome hearing an actual pro talk his lingo. The width and stuff like that.... I never ever hear that kind of talk. So it's very cool to hear and to have him explain what he means when talking with Soly (a golfer that is so so sooooooo much better than me). Please keep these going. No reason to be embarrassed about bad shots on camera. It's a strength being able to do so. You're the man Soly. Until Ben becomes the man. But you were the original man. So that counts for something. Seriously though, Ben is taking over as NLU big dog. And that's fine. It's the nature of aging. It's all good.

Soly, I also have the overswing issue that you and Hubbs were talking about. And my pro is giving me the exact advice he’s giving you. My iron play is ok it was just my driver swing. I have been working on shortening my swing. I worked on it for about a month, but I’m finally shot my first under par round so there is hope. Mark “from the Great White North”🇨🇦

Soly I feel for you. About 15 years ago my gloriously reliable 290yd draw turned into a 80yd hook. I had to fix it or quit golf because I couldn't afford to lose to my buddies every week. I broke down the swing on the range and became a US open straight down the fairway driver of the ball but at only 250yds. Best of luck brother and thanks for sharing a plight many of us have suffered from.

Every time I watch Soly play competitive golf I think I hear him utter "Come on wind" like 10 times in the round - not sure if he is hoping the wind helps to correct his ball flight or if he misjudged the wind and adjusted his setup/shot incorrectly. If its the latter, and I believe it is, figuring out that aspect and mastering it should save a bunch of shots in these tournaments/qualifiers.

Gotta say, this was like watching my past competitive self. Your mindset of “go for broke” isn’t entirely wrong, but at its core it’s still you putting pressure on yourself to shoot a score. Like we saw in the video, when you get to +4 you think “now I really have to start pressing let’s do something crazy” and boom, double bogey. Instead of being focused on the end result of a score, for me what fixed it was putting a greater emphasis on commitment to a shot, rather than the result of a shot. You can’t control your swing day in and day out, but what you can control is commitment to the shot you’re going to hit. Judge your success in tournament golf not by your score, but by your commitment to every shot you play. Count anything with less than 100% commitment as a failure, and anything with 100% commitment as a success. The good thing with this mindset is, regardless of where the ball goes, as long as you were committed on every shot there’s no “coulda, shoulda, woulda” post round analysis. Again you can’t control where your ball ends up, so why judge yourself on that? Scottie Scheffler said earlier this year something to the effect of, “I have no control over where the ball goes. The only thing I can control is my commitment to the shot I’m about to hit.” This mindset has allowed me to play more fearlessly in tournaments without even thinking about it, which as you discuss in the video frees you to swing the good swing you have. My scores have dropped dramatically, stats have improved, and I even picked up my first tournament win ever this year. Some rounds it doesn’t work out, but that’s golf and there’s always next tournament if you keep on trying. Best of luck.

Soly! Nothing but absolute love for the way you put yourself out there. Pressure is a funny thing because it doesn’t only exist in context so it’s impossible to explain. Hell, a lot of us (me), feel immense pressure over a four footer for 80 or 90. Golf is beautiful because it puts players of every skill into situations where we get a chance to prove something to ourselves. I know it’s not worth shit for you lol, but the fact you put this out here for the rest of us to see demonstrates you’re a true baller. Keep flexing. Golf wouldn’t be the same without you guys. No bullshit, if anyone grows the game, it’s guys like you that remind us why we love it. Ps edit. Justin or Soly. As a dude that hits a different shape off the tee than with the irons, can you tell me it’s gonna be okay? I know plenty of pros do this but is this a sustainable approach for an amateur that posts 95 and 75 in the same week? Much love again.

Soly, I feel like I went through these issues a ton when I first started to try and 'modernise' my swing into that left-pocket finish. It was easy with shorter clubs but had a lot of low left and high right misses with the woods. Not sure it's the same issue with you, but adjusting the idea of 'releasing' the club was difficult for me. Reckon we're similar levels too as I'm playing off +1 to 1 (depending how much I play) now in my late thirties having played div. 1 college golf back in the day. Hope it comes around for you pal!
