so that is 4Kg weight loss so then look at weight loss chart and work out, the score for weight loss percentage for weight loss of 4kg is 1

Hi, happy new year, I have a doubt about the scorring of MUST Score of critically ill and no intake for 5 days, what if the scenario is critically ill and poor intake for few days, there is intake but only poor can we score 2? Thankyou

if there is even some intake score should be 0 ,it only scores 2 if there has been no intake for more than 5 days or you patient is likely to have no intake in next 5 days.

it is highly unlikely to happen for community patient but if it does the score will be 2 for acute disease effect

Hi, I have a doubt. My tutors were saying if the patient has pain, but NEWS score reading is 0, u can chart everything according to NEWS , but write ‘yes’ in escalation. And they were telling you guys can verbalise the reason for putting yes ‘ as per NEWS I will monitor 12 hrly, but as patient has pain I will also observe hourly’ . I’m worried as my NEWS score is normal why should I put yes in escalation? So what if I put ‘no’ according to News score, but verbalise I will also closely monitor patient hourly. Is it right? I’m so confused.

If News score is 0,there is no escalation needed .Pain as such is not part of NEWS so you will just manage and reassess patient pain separately.
