To those who are confused, Strong nucleophiles = poor leaving groups However, the case of Iodide is special in a way that it is a strong nucleophile as well as a good leaving group. Opposite is the case with Flouride

Confusion : Sir You said ( iodide ) ion is good Leaving group & good nucleophile while on the other hand you saud A good leaving group is a ( weak base / nucleophile) is iodide and Floride ion concept is exceptions or there is any Mistake ?

AOA iodide ion aik good leaving group is liyay hai kun kay carbon kay sath is ka bond weak hai yani bond energy kam hai jis ki wajah say yay asani say break kray ga so it proves that it is a good leaving group moreover iodide is also a very good nucleophile bcs nucleophilicity down tha group increase hoti hai jis ki wajah say yay highly pollarizable hai so it proves that it is a good nucleophile too. ab flouride ko dekhye it is a poor leaving group bcs is ki bond energy iodine ki nisbut bht ziada hai ya asani say break nhi ray ga so poor leaving group
