I’m just scrolling through random stuff and I found this interview from 6 years ago! I don’t suppose either of them will ever read these comments, but I really enjoyed it. Whoever was doing this interview deserves credit for the way he seems to have made Liam comfortable and he also didn’t bore him to death by asking him the same twenty questions he’s heard for the last thirty years. Liam seemed to have connected with him and it was a very normal, free flowing conversation. At least that’s what it looked like to me, but I’m sure I’m on the autism spectrum somewhere. Liam seems very genuine and comes across well. I like his values ( and his singing) Anyway, thanks to whoever filmed this. I’m going to subscribe now and see if they’re all as good as this. Thanks.

Liam was the spirit of Oasis- the pure joy thing of rock n roll came out loud and clear. Noel's songwriting fed that need. Noel once said Liam was obsessed with him, but in truth Liam only wants the band back together on proper terms. The fact they both still credit each other’s talents and contributions (in separate interviews) is testament to their brotherly respect for one another, even if they aren’t speaking. I loved that Liam did this interview with such conviction & sincerity ~ with righting past wrongs, and taking responsibility for broken marriages and bad behaviour. He’s honestly apologised enough and fully deserves this second break. Am glad he’s on the upswing; he’s grown in aptitude and thriving again in music. Credits to him, his wife, family & team.💙

it's weird how much flack Liam gets for having co-writers when he has way less co-writers than other artists who get so praised for being singer songwriters (Adele, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Beyonce, Sam Smith, etc.). I think he's come a long way since the 90s. Six of the twelve songs on the album are solo writes.

like Liam himself said, he's always been a singer -- not as much a writer. He was absolutely brilliant singing Noel's tunes, and now he's absolutely brilliant singing other people's as well. Elvis was the same.
@rubberducky40743 жыл бұрын
Taylor wrote a whole album by herself so I think she deserves the praise. I’ve seen many people having a go at Beyoncé for having a tonne of writers. I think Liam gets flack when he’s measured next to Noel. People think Noel made the band because of his songwriting, he did write the hits no doubt, but Liam had the signature vocals and attitude that made them famous and set them apart from every other band. He does definitely deserve way more credit as a songwriter. I think he’s slagging himself off because he’s probably internally comparing himself with Noel (as people always have) when he’s on his own path.

People forget Oasis didn’t break up in their peak of What’s the Story Morning Glory. Their albums progressively went down hill and finally pulled the pin when the market had clearly moved on in mid 2000s which was 5-7 years overdue. Had 2.5 great albums and some classics

Watching documentaries of them both, in the early years they both went hard at the rock n roll lifestyle then Noel got bored of it but Liam carried on ....As they got older Liam's "I'll turn up up when I want and do what I want" attitude started pissing Noel off more and more as his attitude is "we're here to work not to fuck about'...I think this carried on and created a bigger wedge between them then on that night in Paris Noel reached his cut off point and walked out....Liam has always been an honest say it how it is, what you see is what you get with him, he's rough and ready but he is who he is....Noel is more articulate but more private but you can tell they both miss each other, Liam will admit it to the whole world but Noel even though he feels it won't let his guard down, for years Noel has referred to Liam as "the other fella" but in his last few interviews he's called him by name...maybe his shield is coming down...Oasis will never get back together full time but I think they will do a one off or a mini reunion tour at some stage....lets all hope they do....

i think it was the name beady eye why it never took off, if it was like "liam gallagher's beady eye" like noal gallagher's high flying birds, it might of been known more, i think beady eye were underrated, quality albums. if noal's band name was just high flying birds would it be as big, just a thought.

A director is as important as the actor. The songwriter is as important as the singer. Change the rolls around and it could be a disaster. Know your part and do what you do best.

Noel tells all kinds of shit trying to lessen the importance of Liam in Oasis, but he knows that Liam made his songs much bigger and better than himself, who wrote the songs

This is great. Very good interview. NME has some great questions, and Liam has a solid response to every question. Really informative. Liam Rocks and knows what he is doing. For the Oasis comments, a Band name means a Band so it should incorporate each member and not be based on one person.
@michellelane65016 жыл бұрын
Interesting that as popular and well-liked (or disliked in some cases) as he is, the press will never let him live down not being a songwriter. They have to keep addressing the topic, and dissecting Oasis under a microscope.

Michelle Lane the press holds no grudge about not writing songs. It's when you can't to anything else but be a jackass that it becomes a noticeable problem.

Great interview, love Liam’s raw honesty about everything and anything. (He’d be a PR publicists nightmare lol). My claim to fame regarding Oasis and the Gallaghers is that in 1997 I was working as a porter in the hotel they stayed at in Wellington NZ - I was standing in the lobby one day and the band walked in and Liam came straight up to me and announced for all to hear “hey lads come at look who’s here - it’s Georgie Best!” With a big cheeky grin on his face. They came and looked me up and down and Noel said “fookin’ ‘ell it is George Best” So that gave them a laugh and they went off… Btw I had no idea at the time who George Best was and had to ask others who that was - turns out I looked just like the young George Best, well at least to them I did lol

Fair play to him in this interview, it's the best I've ever seen him come across. Very open and honest, and dare I say, a bit grown up. Still think his album is poor though. However, if he does record that punk rock album he was talking about, I'm all ears.
