When you think about how Nick's life is now compared to when we all started watching him, it's crazy. I remember the days of him queueing on his Hpal with Chance and getting r1 titles. Now Chance is doing his own thing and Nick is surrounded by new people that he has formed friendships with and he is doing IRL content.

I know she thinks she's being funny, but Emily's endless trashing of Nick has more than a little edge of mean-girl nastiness. Nick can obviously handle (and dish out) megadoses of sarcasm, but the dude really is struggling with a breakup and Emily just keeps twisting the knife, and then popping back into her fake personality again to make it seem like a joke.

I think she's also just somewhat uncomfortable with Nick sometimes. Seems like Nick is trying to flirt/test the waters and she's just not interested. She probably loves Nick as a friend and doesn't want to cross that line especially when she's also friends with Malena too. But yeah the " I'm glad you realized that" was out of pocket. You can tell that hit Nick. My parasocial two cents that no one asked for lol.

@@LilRedRasta I don't think everyone has to always chastise themselves (or others) for being "parasocial" when these streams thrive on and demand viewer involvement. That said, I totally agree that Nick flirt/tests Emily sometimes, and she's trying to set the boundaries very clearly. But she also gets pretty nasty about it in a way that is overkill compared to how kind Nick is to her. The "I'm glad you realized that" was just mean. Then there was one of their recent outings where Nick was referring to it as a "date" and how much enjoyed hanging out with Emily, and she literally said "Can I be honest with you, Nick. I would never do anything with you unless we are streaming." All the fake niceties are just an act when it comes to Emily.
