@@frumpyglint I agree to some extent. I stopped watching him on his Asmongold channel many many years ago, and i only watched him when he was streaming from zackrawr, because it was a way more laid back Zack. While he is real, he does still have his own asmon persona which was not present on the old zackrawr streams. Now that he only streams on zackrawr, that is gone. The asmon persona is definitely back again.

me too. i dont know his story, i just see clips him being a goofball on the internet, antagonizing his friends (which im sure all know him and know its jokes) and i thought, wow this guy is funny but a bit of an ass. Knowing his story now and how he worked hard and built himself to where he is makes me respect him a lot more. It's such a shame about what happened with his mother -no one wants to be in conflict with the people that raised and are supposed to care for you - but at end of the day he what he had to to protect his energy and it's great to see him thriving because of his effort. Watching the chat while he told this story made me feel sick. There's a whole lot of people who clearly grew up in loving homes who cannot wrap their heads around the fact that it's better to have no mother than an abusive one. That's great for them, but when they say shit like "You'll regret it when she's gone" or "You should talk to her for closure" or "She's still your mother, and you only have one mother", all the rage I bottled up growing up with the mother I had comes to a rolling boil.

At 20, I became the secondary breadwinner in my parents house. Not making a lot, but my mom lost her job. I helped my parents keep their house for 3 years, helped her get back on her feet. I caught her trashing talking me , to her bff, about my little I gave her. I gave her everything. She ran my finances and gave me an allowance of my money. I saved up and moved out 3 months later. Things haven't really been the same with us since. I love my mom, but she doesn't love me.

I personally hate that "your gonna miss them when their gone" mentality. HE didn't damage the relationship, she did and she continues to be the mental child instead of choosing to become a better person. Him sending flowers on mothers day was an olive branch an she responded with hate. HEALTHY relationships are two way streets and if someone isn't meeting you half-way and instead mentally draining you, bringing nothing but pain and tears, its better to cut them out. You cant grow as a person if you allow toxic people to poison you, in the end when she's on that 11th hour an he's not there. thats on her and if she still can hold herself accountable then shes gonna have to answer to a higher power.

@@rjacks3284gross man. In this video he said he wasn't flunking out, he failed one class. Giving your kid an ultimatum like that is horrible. She could have pushed him to take a gap year where he worked a job to handle more responsibility if she thought he needed it or any other option. When his mom threatens to kick him out it's not his fault. She might feel that she gave him the push to get his act together, but she's the one that broke their relationship by kicking him out. When my options are go to school and work enough to afford to live on my own anyways but I can't play games and lose out on the friends I have there, or get kicked out and do all the same work anyways but I can still do what I want for fun? I'd probably make the same choice as long as I thought I could afford it. Especially since it seems his mom was at least mentally abusive and has only gotten worse. I'm grateful I don't have a strained relationship like that with my parents.

This is why "what if" scenarios are stupid. You can't know what his life would have been if that never happened. Could have been 10 better or 10 worse. At the end of the day he is where he is because of his own decisions. Him being kicked out has nothing to do with it. Also her lying that she pays for the school when everything was on his name is CRAZY. That right there is nasty and doing it to your own son is wild. She is clearly a bad person. He was in his 20's so it makes sense for her to want him to leave but the way she kicked him out like that is uncalled for. And it's not like kicking him out changed anything major in his life. He was still Going to school, he was still playing wow, the only difference is that he got a job cuz he needed to pay for rent. He didn't make it big because he got kicked out, he made it despite being kicked out.

Literally happened to me the day after my birthday in 2013. I was living in my house with just my dad because my mom and brother had left (divorce and college), but he told me weeks prior that he was going to move out and not take me along. His friend died and he left the state to attend the funeral, and when he came back he took his grief out on me by deciding I didn't keep the house in good enough condition for him (nothing changed) and kicked me out because of it. That was the true beginning of my life.

@@Wintyer I literally explained why getting kicked out changed nothing from him or his future. He was already playing WOW, he was already in school, he already knew Soda. It literally just hindered him because he had to waste time with a job lol But I guess you are right, getting kicked out made him the man he is today. We have to keep in mind when we discuss Nick's relationship with his mom. We will never truly see how deep this affects him and emotions like this can run rampant and can be confusing. This takes a lot of time to process, sometimes it never does. I have a dad who divorced my mom when I was 12 who cheated on her with my now stepmom. Visited him during the summers until I was 18. I got to see a side of my dad I havent seen where he was more loose and relaxed. However, those came to light when I was an adult and how I was mistreated and should have stood up for myself more and talked to my positive parental figure: my mom. She is my rock to this day. And for Nick I can tell his dad is his rock. But there will always be that troubled emotion of love and bitterness for my dad, and for Nick, his mom. So please don't instantly start hating on her, but do continue supporting him as he continues to process his emotions. Nick if you ever see this, I feel for you my man. My prayers are with you. You are doing great. Keep it up 🙏

I feel that my mom moved 8 hours away and married/became a hardcore neonazi like we're talking swastika tats and everything I'm also disabled, I'm a type 1 narcoleptic and when I turned 18 my dad gave me the ultimatum of going to school while working full time and paying him rent money or get kicked out and take absolutely nothing with me. I tried doing school and work for a while, but he would violently threaten and physically abuse me nearly every day (he once pushed me so hard I broke through cabinet doors in the kitchen, which he blamed on me being "dramatic") and it drove me to the point where I ended up in a psych ward for repeatedly attempting to kms. He was the person who came to pick me up afterwards, and the first thing he said to me was that I had ruined his christmas plans because of the medical costs. Later down the line, I ended up living with my grandmother who was dying from a sudden onset of multiple strokes and ALS, I was the person caring for her 24/7 because she became too physically weak to eat food and go to the bathroom on her own and the doctors didn't know what was going on with her because she would lie to them and pretend she was totally fine. He became the owner of the property via her will after she passed and within a week showed up at my door threatening to evict me. When I stood my ground he began threatening to kill me. He is law enforcement so I had no recourse, it was his word against mine. I have never recovered. I am still extremely sick and getting sicker with every year that passes. I am losing all of the money that I had saved by simply buying food to continue living. Recently my dad has been having serious medical problems as a consequence of his extreme steroid, drug, and alcohol abuse and has been trying to buy his way back into my life. I am extremely frustrated that it is working because I have no other options. I don't know what to do.

Hey man, I just wanted to drop this comment because the above two replies are heinous 'human' beings (if you can even consider them as such) for their total lack of what makes them human: empathy. This is not a 'skill issue' or a situation to be conflated to a pithy little 'womp womp' by raisined frontal lobes, this is your life. I feel the need to stress that to you, whoever you are, and assuming this situation you're in is very real (which I have no reason to doubt). You were dealt a shit hand my friend, or perhaps a hand not dealt to you would've been better than whatever it is you seem to have been given. Keep going, my friend. Look for online resources if you can, food banks, temporary shelters, government aid if possible, I'm certain there are avenues for you if you fight hard enough. Don't let the mire drag you down, you've made it this far. There's no reason for you to quit now after all you've done, don't let everything -- most importantly, yourself -- go to waste. I don't know who you've got fighting in your dark corner, but I hope my comment may bring you something, anything. They're just words and scribbles if you really think about it, but just know there are people out there who will help and care for you. As meager as I may be, anonymous on the internet, I believe in you my friend.

That 3 bedroom $800 a month that he's talking about doesn't exist anymore, if Nick was in the exact situation today I guarantee you he would have dipped into that "oh shit" money and still end up struggling. He's lucky it happened when it happened

Really appreciated hearing this from you, Nick. Sometimes I guess some of us are dealt a shit hand, but I guess that also just provides more incentive and motivation for one to work harder and be independent and successful. Glad you're doing well and I hope things get better (whatever can). Be well!

I’ve never watched a NMP video, but I’ve recently been in a slump due to stress from school and life. This video really made me thankful for my friends and family who have always been such an amazing support system for me. Thank you for this video :)

She's mad you made it for sure. She wanted you to come running back to say I told you so and you proved her wrong.
