Fahrenheit is objectively dumb, Celsius is based on the boiling/freezing point of water (0 for freezing, 100 for boiling) which is a sound measurement. Even the US' National Institute of Standards and Technology which is responsible for essentially maintaining and declaring exact units of measurement calls Fahrenheit horrible. The only reason it can't really be changed as the national standard is because of how expensive it would be to transition for a large portion of machining plants.
