I knew the line play on both sides of the ball was the best of my lifetime. I'm not a guru, but the ability to run the ball, stop the run, pressure the QB, and protect the QB was obviously drastically improved. What I didn't know was that it matched up with SEC line play, to the point that they would physically dominate a team like Auburn in the trenches. Pavia was frustrating to start last season and this one as well, but for whatever reason he needs a few games to warm up, and when he gets on a heater, he's as good as any QB that the Aggies play. He also clearly plays his best when the stakes are the highest. When you combine the play in the trenches with having the better QB play, that makes the Aggies tough to beat. I'm looking forward to the rematch with Liberty, because I think the Aggies are a much improved team than they were earlier this season.

I saw the box score but the video really shows how NMSU just pushed Auburn around all day.

To put beating Auburn into better perspective: Auburn had 4 losses on the season. Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Texas A&M. They lost to Georgia by 7, Georgia is defending national champs and ranked #1, unbeaten last year AND this year. They lost to Ole Miss by 7, Ole Miss is #12 in the nation. They lost to #14 LSU, and they lost to Texas A&M. The only unranked team they lost to before NMSU is A&M. A&M is from the SEC and 7-4. 3 of their losses are to ranked teams, Alabama, Tennessee and Ole Miss, all one score games. Their other loss was at Miami. Auburn may be unranked but in reality they are probably a top 25 team in the country.
