I love watching your adventures regardless where they take you. It is relaxing and fun. My father would restore cars. I remember a 55 Chevy he bought for 500 bucks in the 80’s. It had a good body but the floors were rotten out. I watched him slowly over time restore it. Best days of my life.

I know it not a 1964 , my father had a had 64 convertible and the dash didn't look like that at all . I am surprised that you listed it for only $ 600 . I would have asked for at least $1000 , all lot of those parts are very rare because it's a convertible . At any rate I will watch just about everything that you post . Chris your awesome , Hope all is well & you guys had a Very Merry Christmas and have Happy New Year !!!!

with suicide-illegal today rear door panels because they open "backwards". Imagine going down the highway at 60MPH and the back door opens catching the wind.
@Out-Fishing132 күн бұрын
@@markae0 Actually , the doors have double locks and because the vehicle was manufactured that way (OEM) it is Not illegal . Pre-1960ish cars did not come with seat belts too and they are also exempt from having them installed . Now many people did install seat belts , to feel more safe . FYI
@markae02 күн бұрын
@@Out-Fishing13 Thanks for the info. I think the rear car doors are cool because you don't see that today.
@DStead2239Күн бұрын
@@Out-Fishing13 Correct. 64' trunk lid rear section is flat with a concave garnish on the slam panel, 62' and 63' the trunk lid protrudes out and has a recessed flat garnish on the slam panel which also protrudes over the bumper. My friend nut and bolt restored two 64's to concours condition (one in New Zealand, the other in Indonesia) and spent an absolute fortune in the process. What he would have paid for a parts car is immeasurable.

Chris, I must say to your credit, you put a lot of time and effort into saving these "junkmobiles," I used to do the same thing in my younger days, in 1969 I bought a 4 door convertible like this Continental for $150.00, sold it a month later for $250.00. Back then, that was a good profit for a running car. Much peace & happiness in the New Year.

Judging by the NJ inspection sticker from the late 70's and the bumper sticker that says Ken Smith, Id's venture to assume that car was sold new (or used) at Ken Smith Lincoln Mercury that was located in Ridgewood NJ for a very long time but went out of business about a decade ago iirc. Good save regardless how rough, glad someone cares enough and makes time to prevent more stuff from making it to the landfill.
