Graciela, from what I remember the red color in black would be worn by the chief mourners of the family. The red generally stands for red eyes. As for the sword the Asante who are Akans were a martial/militaristic society at the height of their kingdom so you will see things like swords and the like.

in addition to what is already stated, there is a tradition in ghana that friday is funeral day or the day dedicated by the people to celebrate the dead. so everyone in the community during these times denoted to celebrate the dead will be wearing red and black or sometimes brown and black. those are funeral colors. in africa there is a meaning to everything that is done. im sure this is a funeral for a great king or a festival of such.

Hello Africanbushdoctor. I'm South American and African descendant saw your video. I would like you could explain the funeral ritual that is on KZbin. Why red dress in black color and some other attendees? Why do some young fly some pictures at some point, which means? When carrying the coffin, I see that pose swords or similar object what is the meaning? thanks
