Yup, I'm 62 and don't think there has been a more talented individual in decades. I'm currently in Mexico and just gave a guitar player a Ren "must listen to" list, and have also been spreading his gold to my daughter.

One of the things about being a fan, about being a Renegade, is knowing, if and when we have the pleasure of meeting Ren, that what we hear, what we know, is often just the tip of the iceberg. (Actually have met him ... hugged and everything!). Whilst we know a lot more about Ren and his story ('cause Ren has shared a LOT of it), we know it is just what Ren has been kind enough to share. Whilst watching this video I realise that the skills and support needed for this are not simple. It is hard work. And not just technical ability. That we can all learn to different degrees. The hard part is dealing with life. Ren, and those around him, knew how the feelings would be if the outcome had been different. Life does life things. We all have to deal with them. Initially, there was a sense of relief in seeing the outcome, knowing that the potential emotional turmoil didn't happen. But then, I remembered something else. The first half of The Secret Garden Party. And what happened? Issues. I was there. I, like 1,600 others, all saw. But then we saw the reason why we were all there. Ren handled it. Again, from his Patreon videos, we see he didn't like how it was, felt he had underperformed. And so, maybe for a second or two, Ren had forgotten what he had told us. He has told us that we are NOT god's. We are NOT angels or demons. He, just like you and me, is just a human being. And what do we do? We cope. We suffer the trauma, we persevere, we overcome, we move on. And so, my initial thought of how Ren and those around him would have felt if Sick Boi had not been Number 1, were baseless. Ren has proven himself to his family, his friends, and his fans. How do I know this? Because they stand beside him today. As fans, we show our respect for Ren. We give him the space to be him. Hmmm. I say all of this ... but I know just how big an impact he has had on my life. And so yes, I'd love to sit and talk and listen for hours and hours (and some of you know JUST how much I can talk). But, as I've said before to the people who gave me life, who have given me comfort and support in helping me deal with my traumas, and just like many of you out there listening to Ren ... Thank you.

So great to watch this again. The clip with his mum gets me every time. I remember listening to radio 1 for this. Crazy. Haven't turned in to the charts like this since I was a teen. That's Ren's magic touch. Was great seeing scenes in Canada too. I didn't realise there was a Banff in Canada. I know Banff, Aberdeenshire. I know a lot of us Scots, emigrated to Canada so always surprises me how much of an influence such a small country has had on place names there and even in States like Nova Scotia.
