Excellent tip for correctly aligning card stock on the paper trimmer. I’ve never been that precise and have had to do some trimming to take care of the rubs. Beautiful cards. This is the classiest method of decorating these cards that I have seen. I will use this whenever I make a never-ending card.

In the US, a 6x6 card will cost extra postage because it needs to be hand cancelled, as it will not fit in the automated sorting equipment that the USPS uses. Everything that you make is absolutely gorgeous and professional looking. You take such great care and you are a wonderful teacher.

Hello dear Jan! A customer-turned-friend made a never ending card for my birthday and included a huge tutorial in the envelope. Which doesn't help me: I need to SEE how a fun fold is done. So I Googled and found many YT videos, but chose yours as I know how well you explain the making of any card. I'll have to rewatch and pause, because this card is NOT the simplest one😊, but you did explain it quite well indeed. Thank you so much!!❣

Oh boy, Jan!! I just followed your video in making just the base for this card & writing what goes where & how! Now to attempt to make one with "all" the pieces of scrap that I have so much of. I did get a couple of chuckles out of this one. I just love it. Especially when the card you made did not open the same as the one you had already done! Hey, it still worked. Yes, in the US we must pay more for square cards, but you can make a larger envelope to justify it! Thank goodness for the Envelope Punch Board & you can do that!! And you are right, depending on the paper used you may not need the double mats, but yours are all so beautiful!!! TY for this video.

Thank you for this very PRECISE tutorial! I love this card. Tried to make it using another tutorial and it was a hot mess! Didn't fold right, edges caught and it buckled in the middle! The little tips and tricks you give make it so much nicer and it comes together just perfectly. I also love the double mats, though that's ALOT of cutting and paper! I use stricky strip, but put some glue on top right before I position it, so it still gives me some sliding room and yet sticks as well as sticky tape. I tried one with just glue and it pulled at the glued areas. Thanks again!

@ingridwalter48706 жыл бұрын
Hi Jan, thanks for your reply. Most all of my cards stuck. I didn't figure out why it happened. I took scissors and cut small lines out, it looked horrible (at least for me). So I gave up making Never-Ending Cards. You gave me the idea that one must be very perfect with measurement and perfect gluing together. I had for a few cards normal double sided tape. After a while the Cards came appart. I saw, you use red strong tape. I'll give it a try with that. The Cards I glued with tombow ended up crooked. It seems to be a science to succesfully create a Never-Ending Card. But after watching your tutorial, I've decided to give it another try, because the Cards are really special. So thank you dear, for your precise instructions. Have a nice day. XOXO

Jen B- I can see how that would be confusing on which piece goes where . Especially difficult when you are putting everything close enough to reach while filming. It is a great card ! You got it put together just lovely ! That card has lots of pieces to it for sure. But I really like the way you put the layers. In the USA they sell 6” X 6” envelopes. I do not know about if the postage is more or not. However if I have a thicker envelope I either add an extra stamp or I have it weighed at the Post Office and pay per weight. Thank you for sharing this lovely card & the video on how to properly get it together without it catching. Great information.

That’s exactly what I do - square card in an envelope where one side is at least 2 inches longer than the other side. I made 5x6 cards once (I had miscut my base card). The post office insisted they were square even though I measured then and there and they were 5x6. Won the battle but lost the war! And yes they do charge extra for square cards - approximately double the price.

Jan I love these cards!!! really lovely. May I offer a tip on your new corner rounder 3 way punch though? I read somewhere that you should press on them in the center, not on each corner, as all three dies cut at the same time, and pressing on one corner rather than in the center can mis-align the die inside or even cause them to break. Hope you don't mind the tip. :) Take care!

Hello do you have measurements or tutorials for this card in other sizes? I'm looking to do 8 x 8. Thank you.
@janbcards2 жыл бұрын
Hi. No, I'm sorry. If you type in Never Ending Card or Infinity card in the KZbin search bow, it will bring up similar videos and you may find an 8" x 8". I hope you find one. xx

I love this card. You are an inspiration ...you are always so careful and precise. Do you think the card will go through the mail OK ? Kathy

Many thanks, CRS949. It depends on the rules of the country you're in. In the UK, yes it will go through the post no trouble. xx

Wow, love the card and would love to do it, but I must admit it would confuse me in the first second or two. Though I might give it a shot.

Thank you for the tutorial. I like the bigger size. I love the finished card. The only step I didn't see (or missed twice) in your tutorial is the scoring of the four basic pieces on each side. You had them already prepared for the next step. Would you be able to add this step for me so I don't have to guess?

Do you mean the scoring done at the beginning, on the large piece of card, before cutting it into four pieces?
@janbcards2 жыл бұрын
Hi, Gitta. I demonstrate the scoring starting at: 4:30 minutes. I showed the scoring on the long piece of cardstock that wasn't used to make the card in this video. I did this so I could give the very precise cutting lines and the precise scoring lines. This is why the four pieces I used had already been scored. I hope this helps! xx

@@janbcards Thank You. I confused the scoring with another card where the scoring is at different distances. Love your very detailed instructions.

I love that burgundy row of flowers. Does anyone know where that die can be purchased?
@janbcards3 жыл бұрын
Hi, Margaret. The dies are called Petals & More Thinlits Dies [145655] and match the Petal Palette Stamp Set. Both products retired some time ago. However, I have two sets, one of which is for sale. If you are happy to buy used and you live in the UK (the Netherlands, Germany France or Austria I can sell them to you. If you're interested and you suit the criteria (these are SU rules) please email me at janb@janbcards.com xx

It is important that the cards are all the same size, but also important to note is you want all four of your rectangles to have a 2:1 ratio. So in the video here a rectangle that is 6 in. on the long side needs to have 3 in on the other side. So if you wanted to create one in a different size, say 4in. x 4in, then you cut four 4x2 in. rectangles. If you do use a different size, keep in mind the scoring will be different. The scores should be at half the length of the shorter side of the rectangle, or a fourth the length of the longer side of the rectangle. So for instance, in the video the scores are at 1.5 in. (half of 3in. and a fourth of 6in.). Similarly for a 4x2in rectangle the scores should be at 1in (half of 2in, a fourth of 4in). Another way to think of it is you want the two ends of the rectangle to be able to fold in and meet at the middle, so you need the scores to be at 1/4th of the longer side of the rectangle in order to do that.

Jan u makes this so easy to understand ! :) Watching ... would this card work if: Take 2 pieces of card, say 6x6, score 1" in from all edges= 4" square in middle, crease along all score lines. Choose which piece of card should b front. Stack front card on top of other card. Glue front card to 2nd page by corner square 1" OnLy, as delineated by scoring. Leave till glue is dry. Take scissors n cut between layers of two cards vertically*. (Or slip a thin cutting mat between two pieces of card n use craft knife to cut.) Turn over, Using scissors or craft knife, cut between layers of card horizontally, to match front. (*Cut straight up centre/diagonally/zigzag/wavy/asymetrically, keep within middle 4" section. Do not cross margin score lines on either sIDe of centre.....) cards will fit together better without catching as they are glued in position prior to cutting and each cutting line is two sides of whole piece of 6" X 6" card. Thanks for sharing your tutorial :)

Thanks, Lynda. If I've followed what you have said correctly, yes I think it would, but the only way I could say with real certainty is if I actually do it! ☺ Happy crafting. JanB.

I was curious about square envelopes in USA so googled...According to the USPS website: Rectangular envelopes are able to be processed via a sorting machine. The envelope is grabbed by on one of it's longer sides. ... Thus, the additional cost for square envelopes. The surcharge for non-machinable envelopes
@janbcards3 жыл бұрын
Hi, Felicity. Yes, I have been told this before. Here in the UK our Royal Mail machines accept square envelopes without problem. I'd love to see both US and UK machines so I could actually see what causes the problem or is it that USPS don't want square envelopes used. I've always had an inquisitive mind! What size envelope would you buy for a 6" x 6" card? I wonder if that's why Rick Atkins made his card 5.5" x 6"?! xx
