Hi Jan, I use a makeup sponge, scrap piece of paper and squirt a little glue on scalp and tap sponge flat side in glue then dab glue on the piece. It keeps from getting lots of mess and glue all over. Just a thought for you. Lin. Love your cards and videos. Great work..

Many thanks, Linda. Yes, I've seen other crafters using that method, but I've tried but didn't get on with it very well. xx

Suggestion:Jan fixing the cut edge of your foil paper once you cut it with a trimmer. Just run it through a die cutting machine(manual or electronic) That will flatten your edge, without possibly scratching your foil front with your bone folder. Works everytime for me. I run my cardstock through my die cutting machine for any cardstock that I cut from the back>not just the foils. Try it. I think you will like it. The edge won't be beveled, but the edge of the paper will be much flatter. The pressure from the rollers really helps do the flattening.

Many thanks for the suggestion, LK. I'll give it a try. xx

just beautiful fantastic work jan , ps your lovely rings , gorgeous under lights
@janbcards5 жыл бұрын
Many thanks, Robyn. With my rings, the shiny bits on top are staying shiny because they can't turn round, and get dulled by wearing like the underneath is. With hindsight, I should have known that would happen, but I never thought about it! xx

Beautiful cards, Jan. You can avoid that lip from the trimmer, if you don't push down on the blade. At least that's been my experience.
@janbcards5 жыл бұрын
Many thanks, Jodie. But does it still cut nicely if you don't press down on the blade? TFS xx

Jan - These Cards are very lovely. I really like the one you done on air. That card was very elegant . They are all just simply amazingly beautiful! When you told about the card toppers, it made me think of all the silver D S P on the It feel like frost paper pack. ! It would probably work for silver stars & Cards! Thank you for sharing your creativity with us. You certainly put lots of thought & effort into your projects & they show up very beautiful. I enjoy looking at your cards & videos very much! 💕❤️

What I often do is deliberately tip an image instead of putting it on straight. While straight is definitely more formal, tipped gives the card action, which I like. I like both, actually. Love your cards. :D
@janbcards5 жыл бұрын
Many thanks, Mawmawvee. I know what you mean. The card I shared on my blog today was one of these stars but tipped at an angle. If you'd like to see the card, this is the link: janbcards.com/2019/11/brightly-gleaming-copper-star.html xx

Love this! I think I have a stamp that will mimic the small star background with the gold delicate ink😊. Can you use the large rectangle die so you can use the Star dies in the middle so you save the gold cardstock?
@janbcards5 жыл бұрын
Many thanks, Donna. You can certainly cut shapes out of your Gold Foil layers if you want to. For those of us who use A4 paper, using the Stitched Rectangles isn't an option because they are an odd size for A4. We can't get the gaps on the sides the same size as the gaps on the top and bottom! xx

Hi Jan I just noticed you said 4 and a quarter inches width for your card base Are you using the American card stock as you used to use imperial A4 card stock as we do here in Australia I always find it difficult to convert American sizes being as I am a senior citizen., i think maybe it was a slip of the tongue.
@janbcards5 жыл бұрын
Hi, Joan. I am using A4 cardstock. I've just double-checked and I said my card base was 8 1/4" x 5 3/4", scored and folded at 4 1/8". Am I looking in the wrong place? xx
