Q: Why did you use this character for this cover?
A: Devil Mario and Dark Enerjak have some similarities. Both the protagonist are possessed by evil, (Boos for Mario and the spirit of Enerjak for Knuckles) and goes to destroy who ever gets on their way. After Mario kills Luigi and Peach, the boos would manipulate Mario into killing himself by stabbing, while Dark Enerjak loses to Jani-Ca due to her reciting Tikal's prayer to drain his power, later on she destroyed the sword to prevent Knuckles from regaining his power. Overall, Mario died by himself while Knuckles is restored after the possession. Yet again, one is fan made and the other is an official media release.
While Knuckles controls the vast qualities of chaos energy while under the his chaos transformation, the spirit of Enerjak would enter his mind and possessed him. The latter would turn his former friends to prelates, Sonic, Tails, Shadow, and even Eggman to continue to bring waste in the city.
