Looking at home in the Forester! Congrats on your saving $. I appraise apartments locally and see rent rolls. New leases are more commonly $2400-$3000 for 1BR and rooms for rent high too. Always great to save where we can to put $ where it is needed/valued most. I'm no spending so I can DIY build out my minivan this year plus the items needed. I too aspire to purchase merino wool clothes, they are great for both warmer and cooler weather. Hoping they can endure laundromat dryers as I can't see hanging them up wet in a vehicle.

So I have been hand washing (in a bucket) wool underwear, rolling in a towel (to get out water), and laying in the car. It only takes a few hours to dry, depending on thickness. Only a couple at a time. It’s been working well so far!

I just wanted to let you know, in case you haven't figured it out already, a tofu press is something you use to make tofu it's not something you use, on already made tofu. I just wanted to clarify that because I would hate for you to go and buy already made tofu and then try to press it. It would make a huge mess and there's no purpose for it. I suggested you don't like tofu, that you find seasoning to put on the outside because it's kind of tasteless and it'll take on any taste that you cook it with my favorite way to cut it into french fries shapes, and then fry it on all four sides very well And then simply dip it in ketchup like a french fry I think it's good. Of course I put a bunch of different seasoning on the outside, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, cumin turmeric and I like tossing them in spicy chili crisp! And make sure that it is crispy before you flip to new side Yum

I found a a great brand of soup in my deli at my local grocery store called homestyle. It's so good, and way cheaper than Panera. I love it. You just warm it up. It comes out to about $3.50 a serving. A good size serving. I've tried all the flavors, and all of them are delicious.

I spend $350 mo on groceries for myself. I eat organic always, and good quality chicken, grassfed beef, wild fish and so on. I shop around. I’m retired so I have the time. For example, a loaf of sprouted bread at ALDIs is under $4.00, grassfed beef hotdogs 5.99. Costco has organic chia seeds, hemp seeds for good fiber. I’m Lucky if I can save $50 a month. I have pets I spend $400 a month at least on them. Oh well, it’s only money. 😂

When you film your car you should not be “on top “ of the item filmed.. back up a little to give a better normal eye view.. love how brave you are!!

Please reconsider the solar panels on the roof. Nothing takes away your level of stealth than solar panels. Solar panels let everyone know that there's someone living in this car. A solar power station is stealthy.

I hear what you are saying! We shall see, it is something I will revisit in the future (probably will do in maybe 6 months or a year)

👋. Ok, you’ve inspired me to give it a try for April, but no new cars… we are out too many times in March. When I get a new car I usually save up to buy it with cash, or mostly cash… then I make a monthly deposit into a separate savings account at the credit union labeled car replacement fund so there is either enough funds to buy next car in cash or mostly all. That’s worked well for the last few cars which I tend to keep for 10-12 years.

Like the idea you presented of a set of rules for the month instead of a budget. I’m going to try it. Thank you.

I love the idea of a no buy month: I always wanted to do a no buy year but it seemed too daunting. A month seems doable and still impactful.
