No-buy Update #2 | March Check-in 2020

Another random comment, LOL, however, your comments about not really having to purchase the snacks made me think of my reasoning behind the no-buy I did and now the budget I'm following this year. I'm not doing any of this to punish myself. I'm doing this to help me be more mindful of my spending and using what I own, which I think is exactly what you were doing as well. In other words, I think treating yourself with snacks is a-okay from time to time, especially with Covid and all the craziness that's occurred as a result. My "this is not a punishment" mindset came up for me today when I put on a sunscreen that I truly dislike, and after it pilled up (AGAIN) and I had to clean that up I just decided that continuing to use this awful product just to "use it up" was indeed punishment and it really was okay to just declutter it. Which is what I did, and I ordered a sunscreen I DO like as a replacement. I still have budget to use, and sunscreen is an essential product, so imo it was all good, and I'm happy with the decision, especially knowing I will never have to use that damn sunscreen again. Bliss!

Random comments are appreciated! Yes! Totally agree. Although sometimes I can forget that there's a line between being mindful of spending or some other category and punishment. And the snacks thing is such a timely reminder. It TOTALLY got out of hand in 2020. Your sunscreen example is also a good one. I'm glad you made that distinction for yourself.

I think you're doing really well. Things happened and what we can do is our best. As long as we're mindful, there's no need hammering yourself with "some" failure.

@@raphaelaohrn1928 I'm happy to hear that! I've found inventories so eye-opening because it allowed me to quantify the visual space my products were taking up. I hope you do one and if you do I'd love to hear the results!

@@shawnaripari yeah, I did one for skincare and things like shampoo etc. and it has been eye opening! I just need to go trough all my clothes!
