That horn looks light. I have a Prime 920 horn and it is heavy. Came from the CPR in 1999

For max. dB volume, you want a min. of 5/8" plumbing and 140psi

I have a set of Leslie super . I took two sets and used the largest 3 trumpets on one ring. It has a 3//4 line and takes 10 lbs per second off the trucks system. It's been riding on the same place for 20 plus years. They are from the 60s

The last truck I bought had a china built train horn, sounded real weak. Just pulled it off and threw it away. I have a train whistle that I’m gathering parts to hook up with 1/2” hose.

Nicest thing about P3 manifolds is they have the same as the 5 chime just with the air port covers, get the 4 and 5 bell to compete this horn to make it a P5! Great video.

Stainless steel will cause corrosion at the interface just as bad, or even worse than the original alloy steel screws in a wet/road salt environment. The reason is electrochemical corrosion at the interface between the aluminum and stainless. And when the stainless steel screws get stuck and break off, they are even harder to drill out. The solution is to use antiseize compound on the threads during assembly.

If you use nickel based anti-seize, it will keep galling and corrosion out. Copper based anti-seize will cause electrolysis between the aluminum/stainless combination.

I got 3 chime Leslie's. I used a service relay valve and a second Bendix hand valve right on the steering column. You can use smaller line to operate the relay valve. Makes it real easy to change the tone.

a friend of mine has a set of those real train horns off of a train he had someone he knew that worked at a train graveyard he paid for them though he bought an extra air tank to put on his truck and also the proper airlines that goes for the horns and he bought an open close valve from ace hardware store like the chrome valves in the chrome store but cheaper those things sound awesome too

You can make your own if you can't find or afford these, look for diy air horn vids on YT. Also if you get ahold of some old air semi horns you can run them off a standard air tank/compressor at around 100-150psi. I used a mechanical linkage to a standard air blow gun as a valve (like you used in your test) in my Iron duke S10, and my danger Ranger. Tons of fun and easy to set up, even saved my life and property a few times out on the road. I have a video on my hidden air horns on the ranger from long ago. Anyway, excellent video man.

I don’t think there’s as many horn snobs on the trucker side as the train enthusiast crowd. I’d be happy with anything better than the stock horn.
