Are your App able to find numbers of Followers for different countries? For instance, If an artist got 100k Followers. Would It be possible knowing How many Followers It has got in different countries? It seems that the numbers of Followers dont change as we change the market parameter.

Hello, do you know of a simple free online program such that I can see how many streams a track has (and that's it) or I could even see the 1000 tracks with the most total plays in a list form. I have no coding experience and would prefer if there was none needed.

This is awesomeeeeee. So I want to do a personal data analytics project using artists streaming numbers over time. Would this API help aide in that? Would I have to pull data daily to get an accurate count of this data? I'm guessing it only shows total streaming at the time you're pulling the data. Thanks for the awesome video though. I love the intersection of data and the music industry.

Hello! Yes, you can poll their API for this data and you're right - it will return the data at the time of your query, so the best way to "build" historical data will be to keep polling it daily into the future. You can do this using your own coding / tools or we provide a service to do this for you as part of our "workflows" offering and can download this data in CSV format for you daily: stevesie.com/apps/spotify-api

Haha, that would be fun if we could! The next best thing is to fetch the artist details: developer.spotify.com/documentation/web-api/reference/artists/get-artist/ which will provide the number of followers as well as a "popularity" score. You could do this for some artists that you know the revenue of, and then use this to "guess" other artists based on these metrics, though I'm sure it would be a somewhat inaccurate guess!

Thanks Issy! I haven't officially seen a way to get contact information from profiles, however the API does seem to have placeholders for an external website for profiles, but I have never seen it populated. I would check the Spotify API documentation specifically for playlist contributors to see if there's any more info. You can probably get the Spotify usernames / IDs of the contributors at the least so you can try following them / contacting them on Spotify.

Good info.. the issue we are having is getting written approval from Spotify to get our app on the Apple Store. Any idea how to get written approval? Do you know anyone who has gone through the process successfully?

Hey Tina, I don't have much experience here -- I'm assuming they have a contact form or approval system. I would just try your best to get their attention and maybe send a screenshot of your app or something visual to get their attention from a cold contact. Good luck!

Hey man. I tried looking through the internet for a way to integrate Spotify into a Discord server through a Webhook of some sorts. What I want to do is this: "If a new episode is posted for a Spotify show, then send a notification on a specific Discord channel with a message and the link to listen to said episode". ¿Do you know any place I can find that or a way to do it myself?

Cool idea! As far as we know, you'll likely need to have a script living somewhere that periodically checks Spotify every hour or so, then if it sees a new entry to ping your server via webhook.

Unfortunately all you can get is a "popularity" score Spotify shows here, but it will at least give you an idea of how popular the song is at the current time: developer.spotify.com/documentation/web-api/reference/tracks/get-track/
