@@KetamineCoyote The scenario is when Anton is holding Carson at gun point in his room at the hotel and they get to talking. Anton tells Carson that before he dies, he know that Carson will close his eyes in fear before he is killed. Line from the book: “He did close his eyes. He closed his eyes and he turned his head and he raised one hand to fend away what could not be fended away. Chigurh shot him in the face. Everything that Wells had ever known or thought or loved drained slowly down the wall behind him. His mother's face, his First Communion, women he had known. The faces of men as they died on their knees before him. The body of a child dead in a roadside ravine in another country. He lay half headless on the bed with his arms outflung, most of his right hand missing. Chigurh rose and picked up the empty casing off the rug and blew into it and put it in his pocket and looked at his watch. The new day was still a minute away.”

@strangerthenyouthink9311 Жыл бұрын
I finally understand it now! You can definitely see sadness and coldness in Anton's eyes which means at a point in life, he suffered from trauma and came to a Nihilistic realization that 'nothing really matters'. You may fall in love with the most innocent looking face in the world but you may never know when that innocent face will betray you in the most heart-wrenching way possible! This cold reality made him think that since, we can't tell who is a 'wolf in a sheep's clothing', the best way to decide whether someone deserves to live is through flipping a coin. I finally understood this movie now😭
@Daniel-ns71617 Жыл бұрын
Yes, Chigurh represents nihilism and ruthlessness, the two other main characters try to combat him. However, Anton end up losing at the end (when he gets into a car crash, nullifying his belief that if he lives ruthlessly and follows his own morals he would become invincible). The true message is at the end of the story, in the Sheriff's dream.
@DaniloHFM11 ай бұрын
It is clear that he suffered and that he has feelings, but I think that he accepted the human condition and removed any nihilistic horizon, so I think that he embodied the foundation of nature which is to overcome evolve or die, I think that he was stabbed by a angel and the only way for him to stay alive is to keep moving forward without looking back.
@Kobalt_Rax_the_oneАй бұрын
I actually like to think , he had little to no tragic backstory and he was always a sociopath and dose the things he dose bc he wants to and likes it , even if he lies to himself . Makes him that much more of an pure villain .
