This War of Mine has REALLY deep thoughts while gaming, games like chess require thought, but they don't leave you existentially disturbed for years because of people you just killed voluntarily.
@whyjnot4205 ай бұрын
Yeah, in chess I never had a knight that was a deserter who, when made to once again act like a solder, leave the board through an act of self deletion. In order to succeed in it, the game forces you to start to think in very unsettling ways. I don't like comparisons to Papers Please. Which is a great critique of authoritarian and totalitarian governments, but is quite deliberately cartoonish. Papers Please makes a person confront some good quandaries. But This War of Mine forces a person to truly switch into a mindset where survival is all that truly matters in the end. Then when you find out that it is not simply fiction, that it is historical fiction. With many details explicitly taken from the almost 4 year long Siege of Sarajevo. It hits all of it home with a sledgehammer.

In my personal opinion, BREAKING ANY of the Ten Commandments, EVEN for a GOOD and VERY JUSTIFIABLE HUMAN BASED reason is STILL A SIN in the eyes of GOD, BUT then we come to the question; "ARE YOU TRULY SORRY FOR THE SIN(S) THAT YOU COMMUTED"? In the end, that's between you and GOD. GOD's JUSTICE is ABSOLUTE. BUT paradoxically, GOD'S JUSTICE is also MERCIFUL and FLEXIBLE based on GOD'S ability to see into the TRUTH in your SOUL. You will recall that when GOD declared that he would level a city which was THICK with sinners (sort'a like Oakland, and Los Angeles nowadays), a devout man was able to "bargain" with GOD asking "What if there is ONE GOOD PERSON in the city. Will YOU still destroy it, Oh LORD"? To which we ALL know that GOD agreed that IF HE could find even ONE innocent, Good soul in the sinful city, HE would not destroy it. Unfortunately, we also know how the story ends. WHICH is not good news for cities like Oakland, Los Angeles, Moscow, or even Beijing for that matter. There WILL come a reckoning in the future. THAT is the ABSOLUTE nature of GOD'S JUSTICE. It is CERTAIN, and it is INESCAPABLE. It's final form, though, will depend on how redeemable GOD thinks a soul is. I don't know about fancy philosophies of self proclaimed "GREAT" men and women. Personally, I try to live by two basic rules. 1. Do Unto Others As you Would Have Others Do Unto You. 2. LOVE others As You Would Love yourself. Other Human created social rules and restrictions are there just to help us maintain social civility, but without the foundation of the previously mentioned TWO RULES from GOD, such Human rules and restrictions can break down in a heart beat, especially in an atmosphere of GREED, CORRUPTION and SELF - PRIDE. No wonder that a lot of people see Trump's escape from death as Divine intervention. Human HATE and Self -Pride in the form of a lone sniper reared it's ugly head, fueled by CONSTANT, Hateful rhetoric. And GOD declared "Not This Time. I Need This Man To Help Repair A Broken World". whiile at the same time, GOD made sure that Trump understood the OPPORTUNITY and RESPONSIBILITY placed upon his shoulders. As for the still mostly DELUDED Dumb - O - Crat- ick Perty and Sloppy Joe Biden, ... Will GOD manage to find even ONE GOOD PERSON among that bunch? I truly hope so. After all, a GOD given SOUL is a TERRIBLE THING TO WASTE.

A response to the comment on stealing at 6:34. Proverbs 6:30-31 Amplified Bible (AMP) People do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy himself when he is hungry; But when he is found, he must repay seven-fold [what he stole]; He must give all the property of his house [if necessary to meet his fine]. Proverbs 6:30-31 The Message (MSG) Hunger is no excuse for a thief to steal; When he’s caught, he has to pay it back, even if he has to put his whole house in hock. So the only time it is understandable is when you are desperately in need. However, though it is understandable from a human point of view, it is still not right, and God never condones it.

Technically, what God says is that people with productive property are required to leave a certain portion of it aside for the sustenance of those who could not otherwise survive. If a property owner went back over his properties to collect the leftovers that ought to have been left for the poor and a poor individual who was counting on that food to survive snuck into the property owner's barn to take some of it to feed his family, it's reasonable to conclude that the property owner would be considered the real thief. With that said, I don't think the poor man's actions in that case would constitute stealing in the first place, because the food rightfully belonged to him.

Well, since it wasn't specific, I'll just have to guess about the Bible verses. My best guess for "taking your neighbors food so that you and your family can survive" (since that isn't in there) would be when it speaks of manna-bread from heaven- where everyone was instructed to only gather for the daily needs if their family, since new manna was given each morning. To teach God's people to rely on Him. Those who unnecessarily horded manna, would find the extra rotted the next day. The other stuff I have no clue about but it's strange how hostile these channels have become. My heart goes out to those who have been misused by any religion, I've been there too, but my beliefs are my own, I don't see everyone as equally bad. If their views are negative and leaving towards misuse, I try to have a convo, if they don't want to it are being horribly humans, that's the end, I leave them to their maker. Why these makers have become increasingly hostile, is unknown, maybe more subs means their true colors are showing. I just wish they'd keep open minds. Their hostility certainly doesn't sway me to their side. I hope they find peace and have nothing but success

Sounds like Kantians, Abrahamic faith & socialists like communists to me. In my mind the most moral guide line is as follows: 'help another at least once if they ask what is reasonably within your ability to do so.' If they ask to much or ask your help again without having ever attempting to repay the favour in some capacity; then simply fvck em''. I'm a reasonable man & if I don't like another I am under no obligation to help them more then once in my mind if only since they my fellow human. Familiarity breeds contempt & many presume kindness as weakness which it is not from me as I act on decency till the contract is broken by the other party then become indifferent to them. I really am quite reasonable & logical! I have no obligation to anyone; but if the ask politely with in my ability while of no harm to any then I will assist them to the best of my ability. I am rather reasonable. For the most part mind I'd rather people jog on & leave me be as rarely are people not a social & physical drain upon you as most relationships in any capacity are one sided. Why I have nothing to do with people that only use me for their benefit. Best to be indifferent to those you do not want in your company!
