Congrats! You'll never anticipate the wind 100% of the time. Lowering sails in unfavorable conditions is unavoidable and something that should be practiced before finding yourselves in a really nasty squall. (Just like MOB exercises!) It looked like a fantastic day and the quality of your videos is noticeably improving. Looking forward to a tech video on the full battery/solar/motor setup when that is finally complete.

Brilliant and successful effort. Really appreciated the after action report and plans for next time. No surprise that you’ve concluded that ‘reef early, reef often,’ is still a good word. An excellent video as well and it was just like being there, except I didn’t have to get seasick! How awesome is that?!

Good to see more sailing- boat is doing great. When it's really windy some people drop the main and run on the headsail and the mizzen- better control on the ends of the boat. Personally I want an engine. I would also wear shoes with toe protection on deck, but I stub my toe a lot. Tacking is fast and Jibeing is slow on the tiller. Is the motor issue with the batteries or what? Diesel makes me sick too. I couldn't imagine sleeping with the smell. That is quite the tiller there...impressive! Nice music. Looks like you enjoyed a beautiful, but apprehension is completely normal while you learn the ins and outs of this boat in different conditions. You did great!!!! Thanks for the nice video. Hugs

Yes! The headsail and mizzen together would be a great idea! The motor controller is with the company to be programmed correctly and then we will have a motor! Thanks for watching & we are glad you can enjoy each Friday with us!

I caught the Pandemonium song cameo there in the middle. That's the song MJ Sailing uses for their Otro, and is just a fantastic song! Really great video, and well done you two! Going out the first time on your own is always stressful, but you showed appropriate caution and took it seriously. Never lose that respect for the sea and you'll be fine. Oh yeah, and any time another boat is going the same direction, it's always a race!
