One of THE BEST Hard-Core Albums / Bands to Hail From Orange County. This is definitely on my top ten list of Old School H.C. Albums. Along with U.C. "Screaming For Change"/ Y.O.T. "Break Down The Walls"/ Stalag 13 / Circle One "Patterns of Force" / DONT NO "Incite The Riot" / Cro-Mags "Age of Quarrel" / Dr. Know "Best Of" / SLAP SHOT "Sudden Death Overtime" / Judge "Bringing It Down".

I'd def put "No Control" & "Suffer.". I'd consider those albums hardcore and the best as well.
@gregstrasser91526 жыл бұрын
vadermask Yes, "step on it" definitely ranks up there...Same with "back on the map"...I saw Slap Shot with Uniform Choice in '88 or '89 at Reseda Country Club. Fucking great show!....

Absolutely the best straightedge album of all time. Tragedy that this isn’t on Spotify like the single. Lived and loved this since I first saw Nfaa at the country club in reseda so many years ago...

Total classic, Love both Chris Brattons drumming and Dan O Mahoneys voice. One should also never forget Gavin Oglesbys well crafted and perfectly arranged songwriting either, for that matter. GUIDING LINE of an album,

I'd like to get all of Dan's articles that he wrote for MRR. Same with Felix Havok & Dave MDC, they were great contributors. And that Carl Cordova guy. And Bruce Rohr (R.I.P.). Come to think of it, MRR had some great writers over the years, Mykel Bored excluded.
@reformtorta6 жыл бұрын
Mykel was awesome, Larry Livermore before he turned stupid, Furious George...but late 80s MRR was hats off the best zine ever

IMO ..you don't have to be straight edge to enjoy and support great bands and albums like these guys... most of our crew including myself were not straight edge but some of us were - and we always respected supported bands that were s/e and we went to all the shows to support every band we liked when we could s/e or not.. and most of the time everybody was cool... there was no room for any sort of division back in the late 80's in the scene, there would not have been many people at shows if that were the case.. i have over the years read about and or seen where people in other cities had problems if they were drinking and what-not with s/e kids even when they were being cool and just at a venue to support and watch the bands that they had paid to see..

I absolutely AGREE.

My old band from AZ back in the 80s played some shows w/ 7 Seconds. They didn't care we weren't SE. YOUR choice. I've been bevelled edge, or globular (no edge). Never had a problem except in Albany in 86 - local SEs couldn't grasp that 7 Seconds would recommend us - show was at a VFW hall that of course had a bar, and we were all of age and pre-gamed at the bar, still kicked ass, but those NYSE guys were intolerant and tried to not pay us. Weak ass fucks. Drones. almost 40 years later, and Punk/HC should have never had a division about PERSONAL choice. Of course, if I'm at an SE themed gig, why wouldn't I go? If I'm being a jerk, kick me out. Otherwise, live and let live. I've never downed anyone for wanting to try to be their healthiest, but if someone wants to slo mo suicide with drugs, not my biz - theirs alone. Best to all and happy New Year.
