All the major battles are there, same with units....same with Tannenberg besides add more balkins style maps, italian front same and if devs do a middle east you can only do so much with every era, what you want BF1 with historical/fiction mixed

It's nice to see that the game just reached the highest player count ever (5310 concurrent players!) after 1 year of love from the developers and the niche community. This studio really deserves the game's success

Very neat, with this dropping with the ground white where I am, I'm pretty interested! I like what Isonzo is doing overall, alpine warfare in a number of different places has been interesting not just for a WW1 game, but for an FPS altogether. I really like Isonzo even if it isn't something I play constantly, I'm always glad to have another reason to come back again.

5 years ago i met the director of one of those museums, they found on the marmolada a sealed cave that was abbandoned by the austrians and there was still everything inside, after 100 years. the only missing thing was food, since the poor souls were starving. well, everything has been moved to a newly built museum, the cave was coated with wood planks of curse to isloate the men from the cold so the entire barrack has been built back in a controlled environment. it was a litteral time machine from the great war.

I'll admit I'm one of the (I think many) people who bought Isonzo early, but dropped it after a match or two. Given how it's Armistice Day (as of posting), I felt I needed to give it another go, and for one reason or another, it feels surprisingly good now. There's just something about hearing that satisfying "plink" of a headshot 120+ meters out with an unscoped rifle, or the sense of terror when you round a corner, find an enemy, pull the trigger, and your gun jams or you have to reload. Yeah, it sucks the playerbase is normally low, but I'm glad the devs added bot support to keep the game playable. Do I personally agree with splitting the playerbase between three different games all taking part in the same war? Not really, but given the advances in mechanics and graphics, I can kinda understand why it was done. Doesn't make it suck any less, but I get it.

This reminds me of that 2 weeks early access in 2015 when the EA Battlefront made by Dice came out... the graphics and sound design of Hoth, watching people around me fighting, ships in the sky flying, seeing the AT-AT's slowly moving forward while everyone fought around them and the glint of the snow. The secret Wompa in the ice caves. So good.

You could say that Battlefront did underground ice tunnels with the Hoth Rebel Base. There were alot of ice tunnels and the ice hangers. Since rebels were living in there i would think its kind of a ice town as you called it. But realistically in a history setting showing ice tunnels? Definitely not in any games i know of and is its really interesting that this is real history.

Honestly, I have been a veteran of the WW1 game series and I was skeptical of Isonzo’s release as I believed that the game would see very little new content similar to Verdun or Tannenberg. However, I’m really surprised that the devs have been constantly been adding new content that enhances the game and makes it interesting. I hope they continue to keep enhancing this game.

You can play with bots, does have DLC but most are free and the paid ones are cosmetics

You can play offline with bots, but servers are almost always with a good amount of players, today around 6 pm (E.T.) there were like 12 games going with 3 of them having 40 players in it (max amount of players)

I was thinking of getting this until I read the steam views. Now I know that's the worst thing to ever probably do, but to see developers argue with someone over blatant cheaters in a game is not worth my money, no matter what they decide to make because the good will is entirely gone.

The map looks great but is not a fun play, and is just a novelty map that will get a little bit on interest for a week or two then drop back off they had similar type map in "Beyond The Wire" and it sucked it just didnt work as a good game map. I hate snow maps in any game too white, eye sore and they are so boring (Foy in hll) and generally just not good areas in any game usually met with dread. the big part is the dynamic part laying of bridges to cross to certain areas that's new although laying assets and building nodes etc is not uniqe it being an essential part of the game is new and something iv never seen implemented in any other game. I cant name another game in which Engineer much lay down bridges or clear a road etc before things can progress. imagine Hll purple heart lane and Engineers must lay bridges in order to armor across some canals or they can progress forward. some thing think that would kill hll some thing it would improve it im on the side for more of those features in games a very bold move by Isonzo if they expanded on that aspect in future updates or implemented it in more maps that might pull a lot of players back long term.

What they did, or should I say, dident do to Verdun, i will never get this game, read reviews on steam on this game. Still the same cheating player, zab, who was a problem in Verdun servers. Never fixed verdun after being out for years. Then they released another game, it tanked, now this one.

The problem with their games is that they tried way to hard to copy battlefield in terms of making the game more casual oriented to gather a bigger community, but that in turn backfired and they lost the immersive gamers as well so at this point their games are practically for noone really, hence the low player count. Tannenberg was a disaster that left a bad taste so people didn't even get isonzo even though it's a lot better, still they'll never pull off something as masterful as Verdun was, that game was something else. The only proper ww1 game out there that was also very fun, if they just made verdun 2 with more maps, better visuals and gameplay it would sell like crazy, but that train has passed.

The devs messed up by splitting the games apart. Why would you not just make it DLC for verdun. Who tf wants to switch between games just to play a different front in the same war.

@@arturoroldan4839 The Verdun developers tried to copy BF1 after it was released is what he means. They altered the damage models and added more hip-firing machine guns + semi-autos not long after the Horrors of War update dropped. They also crammed 64 players into every map (supplemented by bots because the game died) when most of the maps were designed for a maximum of 32 players.
