The toughness is being weeded out of the NHL more and more every year, I played in the 1970's and had my eyelid almost completely torn off, when the refs came over they didn't even look, some teammates got sick, my eyeball just staring out,lol, still in my gear at hospital the dr starts seeing back on but I can't close me eye, I watched and felt the thread being pulled up and down on my eyelid, I don't like injuries but it was a badge of courage in my teammates eyes, no pun intended, nowadays wheel around, I'm not taking about lining guys up when their heads down but more aggressive hard checking is fun to watch, last night Canucks game, they came out Hungry.
