It is not "loving" to tolerate an abusive person. If you tolerate, you enable. If you enable, you condone. You must leave an abusive relationship if that person is unwilling to change. You can love them and forgive them but you don't have to be abused.

I’m seeing a lot of comments about abusive relationships/domestic abusive spouses. @20:51, Dr Charles says clearly “giving to someone everything they ask for isn’t wise.” It’s clear that Dr. Charles isn’t touching in abusive marriages, but let’s talk about it. Loving your abusive partner to the point where it puts you or your children at risk isn’t wisdom. Part of love is discipline and forming boundaries. God hates divorce, but I’m sure that He hates battered/neglected/abused spouses even more. Even Jesus Himself multiple times in scripture fled those who tried to hurt Him. Look at Elijah, look at Jacob. All men of God who fled those who tried to hurt them. If you are in abusive relationship, please separate from your abuser. Seek help. Your love alone cannot save them. And know that God will not punish you for seeking shelter away from your abuser. And know that you are not alone. God is with you!

I love Dr Stanley and his wisdom. I have to say, however that we need to put away toxic, dangerous and harmful people from our lives. Yes forgive them, but that does not mean it is wise to always reconcile. Let them show you true repentance first. God said love others as you love yourselves.... would you ask your friend to be abused over and over out of the name of love? No.... God bless everyone!

If someone only displays hurtful, toxic behavior towards another person who suffered a near death accident and struggles every day with sight, hearing and balance problems, is it reasonable for the injured person not to subject herself to the toxic person? The toxic person has never forgiven my friend for marrying her widowed father. It doesn't feel healthy for me to advise my friend to subject herself to her husband's 50 year old daughter who was always indulged in her life and who my friend has constantly helped with the grandchildren. She loved helping but it always ended in disaster with his daughter. My friend has so many struggles without this toxic energy in her life. How would you suggest I advise her? She had the worst Christmas due to her husband's daughter and every get together is much the same. Thank you for any suggestions you can offer and God Bless you for providing us with all of your God given wisdom and guidance. 🙏

That's not love and you should leave that relationship immediately. I do not interpret this message as in a woman should stay with an abusive man that is liable to kill her. That is just plain ignorance and you should never listen to anyone who tells you to stay and die.
