the angelo clip is crazy. i also think guns being so good at compensating other weapons and synergizing with them is a big play of why dantes guns are good,and you wouldnt be able to show that with gun only combos. bullet magnetism to redirect yourself,or using guns to drop your height,or inertia rainstorm,fireworks to gain height after out of jumps etc.

It's not exactly fair to call a version of the character as a 'cheap copy' or such as there's mostly surface level detail consistency for Dante throughout (cocky, white hair, magenta coat, big ass sword, 2 guns and a sawed off shotgun). While I haven't seen the kinda comments ya saw but when I hear people say "guns are bad in DMC" they usually either lean into one of the two sentiments. One is more focused towards the strength/power/effectiveness of the guns as if mfers out here just want DMC2 type shit w/ their gunplay which is much easier to explain as to why that's not a good thing to advocate for. Other being that the guns/firearms don't get anything nearly close as much love as the swords/devilarms does in terms of moves, their usage and Style potential (doesn't help that Gunslinger lost a few moves and/or extensions for moves going from 3 onwards for Dante). I think the latter has a much more meaningful discussion on hand there as both Dante & Nero both can use more moves in terms of their gun usage. If someone's competent in these type of games then they already are aware about just how big of a role guns esp. EnI play in either setting things up or facilitating juggles for linking shit that otherwise would either be not doable or more pain to do so.

Gacha game : spend money big damage, making built, grind for better stats making optimale team thats it... depth... not so much is not like ground breaking dmc 4 inertia, most gacha game i see is just how to speed run stage and see big damage out put by single charcter then show stats show artifact so on.. no depth at all. Im myself play gacha games so no game are right to call "DMC" there some actully decent one like post honkai oddesey or pgr well there still not close to "dmc" but atleast feel high octane pump up adrenalin in my opinion

Yo con el joystick todo roto y con pocas horas en el videojuego(jugue solo 100 horas en un año) ya estoy empezando a enlazar buenos combos en dmc 4. Lo siento amigo, ¡pero las armas en dmc 3 y 4 no causan ningún daño! en dmc 1 y 5 hicieron un balance ideal entre ellos pero en dmc 3 y 4 dios mio parece que los odiaron tanto que nerfearon las armas de fuego! Se que es porque dmc 2 los dejo desequilibrados, pero eso no quiere decir que tengan que estar nerfeados para tener un buen equilibrio con las armas cuerpo a cuerpo.

@@elderleon1844 Yo no me aclare bien, disculpa. No me referia como tal al daño, en todos los juegos que he jugado nunca le di pelota que arma saca más daño o menos daño. Me gustan más las armas de dmc 3, 4 y 5, pero no por el daño sino la cantidad de cosas que puedes hacer con ella. Puede ser que lo llegaran a nerfear pero eso no quita lo que puedes hacer con las armas, sin embargo todo el gameplay que puede llegar a hacer uno en dmc se debe gracias a la comunidad y no a capcom. Los jump cancels y los demas cancels como royal guard+la escopeta o lucifer glitch, lo supe por videos en youtube de gente que juega dmc, como que le falta un par de tutoriales más a capcom. Ni siquiera sabia que podias volar con el devil trigger normal en dmc 3 xd. Pero si quitamos todas estas tecnicas podria ser que me deje disgustando el daño de las armas de dmc 3 y 4. Pero es que el del 5 con dr faust cuando te metes muchas veces al palacio sangriento y salis con millones de gemas rojas me parece que el daño que le sacas a los enemigos es zarpado mal.

well sorry but I see you still need to use the melee weapons to do some danmage so, the main problem I have with dmc guns that thank God they correct in dmc is that, the guns DON'T DON DANMAGE AT ALL!!! really look like you just shooting airsoft guns at the enemies! in dmc 1 they have a perfect balance between guns and melee weapons doing a very good amount of danmage that encourage you to use both, but in dmc 3 and 4 My God, the guns just don't do any danmage at all!!!

I will be as polite as possible and explain this in a way that doesn't come off as condescending or insulting. Here's the TL;DR from the start: Guns in DMC are support tools first, damage dealers second. You CAN turn them into damage dealers first via different tech and styles, but the goal is for them to play second fiddle to the melee weapons. So far the only character in DMC that has been explicitly made with Guns as damage dealers first and foremost is Lady in DMC4 Special Edition. So far the series has used ranged weaponry (or guns for short) in different ways for different characters to different goals. Nero's Blue Rose is either a quick firing revolver (not as quick as E&I mind you) that can be charged and then unleashed for a huge burst of damage. Vergil's Summoned Swords are his "guns" so to speak and since they can be fired at any time - their strength comes not only from dealing a ridiculous amount of damage (yeah - they deal a fuckton of damage in DMC3 from the get go) but also because they can increase your DPS even during melee attacks. I mentioned Lady earlier but she's just... pshh... her handguns are like a mix between Nero's Blue Rose and Dante's E&I, her Shotgun is the strongest in the series and her Kalina-Ann can literally nuke a room full of enemies to the point of making the game an absolute joke. A special case is Trish who uses both guns and DMC4's Pandora in her moveset in DMC4SE but that's because she's supposed to be a lite version of DMC4 Dante. A more compact character in terms of moveset. Now... we're talking Dante and I am starting with DMC3 Dante. (note - all of the guns need to be upgraded) E&I can be damage dealers in Gunslinger. By shooting them repeatedly while in GS you enter Rapid Fire mode (you can tell by the muzzle flashes growing larger) that increases their damage. You can mash twosome time and shoot to effectively quadruple their attack speed and have them turn everything into swiss cheese. On top of that you can use Charged Shot with them. Shotgun, while not being as abuseable in GS as E&I has Pointblank crazy combo that also deals a fuckton of damage. However Shotgun's DPS lies in jump canceling it on a wallsplatted enemy or ROyal Guard canceling its recovery animations (which is DMC3's version of DMC1's Shotgun twitching cancels) Spiral's damage output relies on you being able to line up the shots to catch multiple enemies and in Gunslinger it gives you Sniper which is a huge damage burst and Reflector which against a single enemy is a devastating move in terms of DPS, not to mention the loop of canceling a normal shot with the basic gunslinger move. Artemis is often overlooked in terms of damage, but that's because nobody has bothered using Artemis properly. The easiest way to use it is to charge up the Lock On Shot by holding the Shoot button and then fire it off in between melee combos or if you really wanna lay the damage against a single target - then use GS's Single Lock On. Kalina Ann is self-explanatory. Huge rocket boom-boom with the ability to be fired even faster via side-step cancels or RG cancels. Now... DMC4 Things are a little bit more complicated since all of the damage is now in Pandora. The biggest change to E&I is that the old exploit of spamming shoot and style is now incorporated as a move called Honeycomb Fire. Shotgun is still a JC damage dealing nightmare against enemies caught in a corner. Pandora is where DMC4 Dante's ranged damage lies. That thing is a rocket launcher, a giant laser, a deadly frizbee, a gaming station firing rockets and... if you've filled up the Disaster meter it kills a room of enemies with The Omen move in Gunslinger. DMC5 Ebony & Ivory are now even stronger because they have so many different firing modes you can not only deal damage in different ways, but also build your style like no tomorrow. Not to mention that now in Gunslinger you can fire each gun individually for when you either want some burst damage with Ebony or DPS with Ivory AND in GS they enter Charged Shot automatically. Shotgun in 5 is a little bit cheeky because its DPS is now tied behind holding the fire button to build up a Charged Shot. Combine this with the rolling Cut In moves from Gunslinger and you find out that the time it takes for a Charged Shot to be built up is roughly the same as the time it takes Dante to fire off a shot between rolls. Faust just breaks the game as long as you have the Red Orbs... which is the point. The meteor move even gives you I-frames during the twirl before the drop. Kalina Ann is now basically an "I win" button with tons of different ways of simply melting an enemy. Same goes for Double Kalina Ann. It just clears rooms like nothing else. And due to DMC5 giving you free reign in how many weapons you wanna carry - you can literally bring ALL guns ZERO melee and STILL dominate the game like no tomorrow. Pure Gunslinger style. And this is long enough. All I'm gonna add to this is that you can beat DMC5 with Vergil by only spamming his summoned swords. They're THAT strong and THAT fast.

Lmao guns in DMC are bad he really said like dude have you seen them BP speedrun videos, where they almost only use Dr.Faust or even Dual Kalina-Anns when doing Faustless category. They clear floors pretty quick I'll tell you that And that's not to say other ranged weapon are bad instead. In fact, speedrunners use Coyote-A's Gunslinger move on bosses more because of its high dps. Even E&I have their use as well in my personal experience. I almost exclusively use E&I to stop Chaos' rolls thanks to their high firerate In conclusion, guns in DMC aren't bad. You're just not challenging yourself enough to figure out the most suitable scenarios to use them. And in a game like DMC where it's all about figuring out how to use certain stuff in a specific situation whether it's making flashy combos, fighting bosses or just having a gameplay advantage in general, you'd thought that's the least you can do

One of the best tactics for speed runners in DMC3 is literally Shotgun RG cancel to make high damage. Agree about DMC4; outside of Pandora, they don't do much damage. But in 3 they have a really big impact not only in damage but also in hard fights like Arkham (Kalina Ann) and Geryon phase 1 (Spiral)...

So, in terms of damage alone, not crowd control, not combo, just damage: DMC1 E&I is the best early game damage, even better than sword, late game's best source of damage is another gun; DMC2; DMC3, shotgun cancel is one of the best source of damage in the early game, and it's still great source of damage late game, E&I in gunslinger washes everything stands in front of their trajectory, spiral guard cancel, Kilina Ann; DMC4, gun is the weakest here, but shotgun jc still melts bosses, Pandora has a giant laser beam, Blue Rose charge shot is one of the best source of Nero's damage; DMC5, gun is the most OP here in DMC5, you have Dr. Faust, Double Kalina Ann lasers, E&I are weaker than DMC1&2&3, but still good, shotgun can still melts bosses, and Red Hot Night that deserves a category of its own.

Have you, like, actually play the game? No offense, but guns have always been powerful in DMC. Using E&I in DMC2 is the least painful way to play the game because you can hold one button, and stare at the wall instead; everything in that game is shit. Guns also serve its own role in the game, a different role from the swords most of the time. Saying gun is bad because guns only combos are severely limited is like saying Trickster is bad because you can't combo using only it. Even in DMC5, combo is severely limited with Swordmaster only, and 4 weapons. I don't wanna be rude, but people who don't know anything about the game need to shut up sometimes.
