Glad to see Big Bird back on the trails. Well, about the switch of the clutch pedal, if it fails and empeach the starter to run, you can shunt it on the inboard fuses box. Yours is probably the same as my TJ98. I explain : the number "20" fuse place is free (empty), it's supposed to be a place for auto transmission, if you put a fuse on the place, that shunt the switch pedal. Of course that delete the security to start with a engaged gear without pushing the clutch pedal and you have to take care, but it's very useful in case of your video issue. Trying to post a picture here under.

Could be your starter relay, I always carry spares just in case, same with fuel pump relays if they differ from the others as it does in our 98 TJ w/2.5 liter. Good to see Big Bird is flying again even though it had a damaged wing, lockers would be nice when you hit the lottery. Keep in mind that just because a relay pulls in it does not mean the contacts are good and the field expedient way to check is to change it out with a new one.

The JL‘s are also the lease reliable after getting wet because of the extensive reliance on computers. It is also the least nimble and not likely to make it down many trails that a TJ Rubicon makes with zero effort. It’s too wide and too long. It’s why it’s called a bus by so many jeep owners. It also rates much much lower on the fun factor unless you’re into Over landing. If you have children, I would have to agree the JL’s the better choice. Yours is one of my favorite KZbin off Roading channels by the way. Keep it up. Most professionals agree that the LJ, which is actually a TJ Dash L is the top choice for off-road capability.
@SmokinMonkeyOG9 ай бұрын
All person opinions lol mechanically and in use on trails they are much better jeeps.
@RockMauler9 ай бұрын
@@SmokinMonkeyOG have owned six jeeps in my life since 1969. The cost of all of them combine is less than half the cost of the JL. Love your channel, but I seriously disagree. And when you say better, I would ask better at what?
@SmokinMonkeyOG9 ай бұрын
@RockMauler better at going off road and more capable. You can run 37s stock with no lift and you can definitely get more articulation. From the thousands of hours of research and seeing how they all perform and having both myself I can say they are much more capable jeeps and I’m sure the next one will be even more capable

dumb question... but have you put the 20a fuse in the clutch bypass behind your glove box? most vehicles you have to disconnect something. but our tj' s you add a fuse and it disconnects the clutch safety . i have this issue with it not wanting to start. but after finding nothing wrong. it starts

Could be your starter relay, I always carry a spare just in case, same with fuel pump relays if they differ from the others as it does in our 98 TJ 2.5 liter. Keep in mind that just because a relay pulls in does not mean the contacts are good and the field expedient way to check is to change it out with a new one. When they start to fail it generally is intermittent like you were experiencing, with the fuel pump relay it may not start on a damp day and start when the weather is dry, I bought our 98 really cheap just for that reason.
