Personally I loved Shadow of Mordor, but I hated Shadow of War. Shadow of war improves on various game mechanics, introduces new cool stuff, but has a lot of flaws that I can't look past, some of them being big flaws and others just nitpicks. - Climbing is wonky af. They improved it by making it faster, but whe'll constantly just jump to another building a block away when all you're trying to do is jump down to the ground. It's comically bad - Nitpick: Color-palate of game changed and they also made changed his hair from black to the shittiest brown... WHY?!?!? You gotta stare at the back of his head all game and it looks like dreadlocks made of turds! It looks fine zoomed in, but it de-renders zoomed out and looks terrible. Also the trees look worse... WHY?!?!? Just copy and paste the same trees from SoM in. Those were fine. - Loot chests are even WORSE than the media played it out to be, and they played it out BAD. Do NOT buy any other version than the cheapest version. It is a criminally bad waste of money. - Glitchy. I tried to assassinate a captain while I was right above him, but he decided to jump 50 ft to the left to an orc (that i had no idea was there) and killed him instead. The captain saw me and raised the alarm. I jumped back up to the wall right above him, where the orc captain stared at me for a few seconds and THEN FORGOT WHERE I WAS WHILE HE WAS LOOKING AT ME AND CONTINUED WALKING AROUND LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED. The game is FILLED with stupid glitchy moments like that, and eventually I just got fed up and stopped playing. I maybe played 2 hours of it when it came out and haven't played since. But I digress, a lot of people still say it's a fun game despite the taint of microtransactions and since skyrim/oblivion is glitchy, maybe you're used to it and won't mind it. Anyway, hope that helps! =)
