Takes about 2 hours to ensure that anyone with a mailing address will be up to date on anything imaginable.

Wow, that’s a crazy story, I’m so sorry man. I started watching your videos when I was 16 or 17 years old, bought my first fragrances (acqua di gio, L’eau D’issey, and Versace Man Eau Fraiche) based on your recommendations. I wore the hell out of ADG and Eau Fraiche and still do. I’m 22 now, and just now appreciating L’eau D’issey, because I hated the grapefruit note on the top when I was younger. Anyways, point being that you were invaluable in my high school/beginning college years, in terms of getting me interested in fragrances. I remember the first time I cracked ADG and it was like a whole world had opened up to me. Many other great fragrance channels have flourished since then, but your subscribers know you’re the OG. Congratulations on your new home, and I wish you the best in rebuilding your collection. Definitely don’t quit!

@@dracdoc bro i just moved from California to Georgia and excuse my language but i got fucked.. the move was supposed to cost 7k ended up costing 20k. I still might sue them because they didnt honor there price per square foot of the truck. But also ive heard people complain to the BBB ( BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU) and say they have gotten money back by complaining about the moving company on the bbb website. So you have nothing to lose if you try that.. Its not your fault my man these moving companies are scandalous ive heard nothing but horror stories.. once they load your stuff up your screwed and basically forced to pay otherwise they will just store your stuff and charge you a fortune for storage fees until you pay or forfeit your stuff then at that point they will auction your shit off.. there straight scum.. ive had everything and lost everything due to this happening and storage fee got so high i had to let my iteams go to auction cause i couldn't afford to pay the storage fees to get my stuff back.. id say if you have the time and money sue.. if you dont then complain on the BBB WEBSITE.. I'm so sorry to hear this my dude. I started watching you and Robes08 back in 2009-2010 area when I began building my own collection. I actually moved from CA to FL a few months ago and I was scared of the same thing happening. I purchased two large hard-shell luggage with luggage locks, plus bubble wrap to make sure they were good, and thankfully they all ended up here intact. Bro this breaks my heart. I'm super sentimental about my fragrances too. I still have the 1st bottle of Coolwarer I got in 7th grade. Still have my grandfathers Green Polo from the 80s. So many 9f my memories are tied to the cologne I had on that day. Well it sounds like youve remained positive and are settled in Florida so it could be way way worse. Wow!! Such a sad thing. Seems like we have so many parallels. My wife and I moved at the start of the year (we're here in Tampa too) and we had the same issue with a moving company. It was a local move and they damaged our floor lamp. Weighs 50 lbs and we got $40. Refund was calculated by weight. They never informed us of added insurance. Thank goodness they didn't break a Macbook. Glad you and your family arrived safely. On the brighter side, I've appreciated your information on scents over the years so I can offer you my Creed VIW. Sorry this happened to you, Cody. I commented below that I took my fragrances in my vehicle when my fam moved this past summer. In reality, in all the times I’ve moved, I’ve never actually hired a moving company. I know not everyone has the time or is willing but I prefer the control of renting a truck and hiring helpers with me doing the directing. I feel your pain. It's good that you have the finances to replace your losses. I know that some of the fragrances may not be replaceable as they might now be discontinued or modern inferior formulations. On the positive side, you can now reevaluate your collection according to present taste and only replace what you love. If you get those muglers please let me know where I can get some. Similar thing happened to me Cody. While in no way as severe in scope, the emotional reaction was quite similar. I remember turning into Liam Neeson for a week, lol. “I don’t know where you are or what you want. If you’re looking to steal my fragrances, I will pursue you, I will find you, and I will…”. The insurance was a scam. I dealt with the same pound based valuation system. I hounded the owner of the moving company for weeks. He finally capitulated, seemingly in exhaustion. He later revealed that one of his movers was a felon and an active drug user and apparently had ripped of several other customers. It is ironic. You pay hundreds, if not thousands of dollars to a “reputable”, “trustworthy” company to move your belongings and you get ripped off. You pay some homies in pizza and beer and laughs and maybe a wall gets scratched (worst case). Sorry man.

I just moved last year and I thought something like this would happen to me so me and my wife moved 20 miles away. We hired a moving company but it was just some stuff that I value too much to let them move in fear of if come up missing or broken. And my fragrances, I moved myself and loaded in my car. LIFE LESSON: Pack Valuables in Separate Boxes When Moving. Mix the junk with the treasure, makes it a lot LOT harder to steal and if a box gets damaged / lost not all your valuables are gone. Yes it means it's a bitch to unpack, but when you're going to be unpacking everything anyway it works out in the end.

I’m the same way. I don’t have the heart to take what’s not mine. The other night we went out and I found a wallet. I located the very drunk owner and she snatched it from my hand. 😆 Later that same night, a family was taking pictures and the mom of the group left her wallet on the bench. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of those fragrance bottles. What you probably should have done (if you didn't) was speak to an agent for the insurance company that covered your apartment before the move to see what was covered. Theft or loss is probably covered but there's several types of valuations. Actual cash value coverage is market value of the property. Replacement cost value will cover the cost you would need to replace it today. The best (and I'm not sure it it extends to personal property) is extended replacement cost coverage. You might have needed a detailed list of the bottles, original receipts and estimated amount left. Some recommend photos. As we know, these bottles can appreciate in value and the item I've often written about when commenting on your videos, batch codes and batch dates, would also come in handy to prove the market value of those used bottles today. Some used bottles may be even worth more than new bottles, but you would need to explain why to the insurance company!

Only if you keep them in thoughtless conditions. There are fragrances that are literally hundreds of years old that are absolutely fine.

That is a huge bummer. I run a moving company here in Wa state and you should be reaching out to AMSA and New York’s transport commission.. you brought up valuation (not insurance with moving companies) but they likely would’ve deemed your fragrances items of unusual value and wouldn’t have covered them.. anyone moving that cannot transport yourself I highly recommend boxing and crating if you have 5K+ worth in fragrances and shipping with ups or fedex. This is why moving companies get a bad wrap. Definitely when comparing them to brokers (predominantly in Florida) when it’s completely different.. anytime you move there should be an inventory with each item/box being itemized and your driver should build a literal wall in between your shipments… bummer this happened like that. That's horrible! I'm sure that you'll put tons of thought into the collection rebuild. I'm not sure how you purchase scents but I only do small bottles these days. It just seems like the way to go with us scent soldiers aka fragheads...
