The amice is worn by the priest, so if I 'm ordained, yes.

@@CatholicPatrick really? I was not even aware of that! I've seen servers wear it also in cassock and surplice but maybe it's just not required. Thank you also for the demo of the REAL Roman collar! Cassocks seem to be in style again which by nature use a real one. Way better than the white tab "clergy shirt" lol🙄. But then again I know a few Franciscan priests so all they need to wear is the habit. The simplicity of vowed religious life!🙂

@@CatholicPatrick you are correct according to what it says in the missal General Instruction, the amice goes on before the alb. I find the history of the liturgy vestments fascinating. To this day the Anglicans refer to cassock/surplice as "choir dress". It makes me wonder if that vestment combination originated there in Great Britain?

I believe that's because the choir would wear red/blue cassocks. And the use of the cassock was probably used a lot more in the choir so it kind of just stuck.

@@CatholicPatrick I know that Autom supply in Phoenix has cassocks which can fit the Roman collar inside. They also have what they call a "black alb" which doesn't have the open space for a collar. But calling it a black alb doesn't sound right lol How's school coming? Sounds like you're on a fast track to ordination. All on God's timetable of course 🙏. You could ask for a biretta as an ordination present. Autom has one that has that fuzzy pom pom ball on top. I'm sure there's a fancy name for it in Latin but I forget what it is offhand 🤔 So does your society have priests which say the Latin mass?

I knew Jesus was 33 years old when he died, I didn't know we memorialized that in cassocks though.
