I think the lesson here is not to build your house on someone else's land. Partnerships largely land with one side feeling overworked, underpaid, or contributing more than the other. As you age, your passion and focus will change over and over again. Those that you leave behind will feel hurt and lash out. I'm sure you already have this figured out, but I would think you'd be best using the LZBMX brand to private label something keeping you attached to BMX forever. There aren't many Tony Hawk's that can ride until they are 40. There are many more that use their life experience to evolve the sport whether they ride everyday or not. The business of BMX would benefit greatly from such an amazing ambassador. Do you bro!

Starting your own BMX company will result at loss 99% of the time. Also, to design, make, manufacture/ label, market, sell and ship a product you should know exactly what you are doing or bring tons of cash while having professional staff already working on it. Plus, the BMX market is oversupplied already. No Money to be made here. And why would one sacrifice 3/4 of their day when the result is +-0$. Not worth it.

@SchnellVITALVINYLVLOG7 жыл бұрын
Risky Rabbit thank you seriously I said that from day fucking one after everyone left and I heard about what happened with denim cox I was sick of hearing about Rich screwing people over I won't be coming on them and not paying people I have to say is look at Lotek.., how do you go from being one of the best companies in BMX team wise and product wise especially when it came to shoes and cool DVDs. If you have Scerbo riding for you,when you were doing something right but then I have no idea what the fuck happened the product started shitting the bed around when Dak left because when Ian Schwartz left they had just made his signature shoe so they just made it Dakota's without any of his input.

These comments are alll fucked yo lmaooo it's a shame how much everybody wants Adam to do what they want and I can't imagine how stressful it is for Adam feeling like he can't choose what he wants to do without angering his viewers. Instead of being a bunch of kids why not support him for this? All these negative comments WONT make him go back to stranger nor will it make him QUIT drifting. He does what he wants and what he thinks is right and will help him move on in life.

@Rei-nj8ue7 жыл бұрын
din nr if that's the choice he made than that's that there should be no problem. The thing is that he says in so many videos that he DOES still ride it's just either way his viewers complain. When he uploads a bmx video his viewers that ride complain that he just does the same tricks and when he doesn't upload bmx videos they complain there is none. The reality is that no Matter what he does there's alway complaints from someone. That's why we should support him and his decisions if they make him happy. I guarantee that if we just support him and his decisions the content would be a lot better because he'd be less stressed out on trying to please one chunk of his viewers. He'd know that no matter what he does if he's stuck or doesn't know what to post about we can give him suggestions and not complain about it.
@Rei-nj8ue7 жыл бұрын
Also this comment wasn't to start some sort of argument between the rider viewers and drifter/car people viewers. I just want Adam and whoever scrolls through the comments to see this so they know that some people just want to see the KZbin happy. While I am a bmx rider and car guy, I watch Adam because his videos have all out positivity and a fun vibe. Whenever the KZbinr is stressed out it kills that making the quality of the video wack. And the fact is we have the power to stop that by just supporting him and making him feel relaxed instead of hopping on his back and weighing him out. If we just keep dressing him out, at one point there could be no more videos at all that'd be the end of it.

works both ways, adam used stranger as a platform to get his "brand" out. personally, on the large scale it looks a lot more like adam hopped on stranger for the exposure but didn't exactly fulfill his obligations of pushing stranger to his audience as he moved more into the "cars" stuff. two sides to every story though.
@XecuTionNxx7 жыл бұрын

i just don't see it that way, didn't even have a link to stranger's site in the "going pro" video, hardly even a mention. i don't think a sticker on the helmet and bars cuts the mustard for a pro when you've got guys like hicks pimping their stuff daily and he's just a flow rider. i'm not gonna sit here and claim i've been watching adam's twitter/ig/whatever cause i don't follow him but i think the goal was youtube promotion, and through this channel i've just gotten a whole hell of a lot of LZBMX promotion. just my 2 cents.

I don't know if the people in the comment section even listened to you or didn't they just understand. Kids think that getting going pro means you are going to be rich and that it's going to be a nice smooth ride to success. It's no were near that and many pro riders have to really count their money. And what comes to riding, you can't keep beating your self over and over again while riding. I kind of learned that the hard way and now I can't ride bmx or scooters or skateboards no more since my body is in pretty bad condition. But I'll stop now so I don't write a half a book in the comment section. I really respect your decision and I understand you fully! (and sorry if the text is kind of a mess... Adam, you seem like such a nice guy! You are so down to earth about everything.and you never want to give up because of the bad things that happen to you. That, I believe, is why you have become such a sought-after character in the world of bmx and drifting. Why I started following your channel? Well my little brother and I were into sports like skating and bmx. He was more into bmx and I, more skating. He watched your videos every day and I would watch with him. Neither of us had a car and biking was our way of getting around and we always tried to make it more fun. This gave him the drive to progress his bmx skills and thus the reason he started watching your channel. He then found your advice and your skills to be helpful in learning about the sport and skill set that follows. Then I bought a car around the same you bought the 240sx and started modding it and I felt like I then had a connection and so your channel turned into what it is now and I watch your videos every day or at least I watch every video and it is great content so I just want to say thank you for your time and effort and that you do make a difference. Unfortunately great people like yourself get stuck in bad situations (referring to the Strange BMX sponsorship) and it's great to that things like this don't faze you or cloud your vision of your goals! Thanks Adam! Sincerely, Alex Gray, follower of about 4 yrs!

Good video dude. Wasn't an time wasted with unnecessary emotion or blame, really nice and diplomatic and measured. You're a true professional.

No invoice no money. obviously you don't have much business sense. I've owned a construction company 10 years and if I don't invoice I don't get paid!!

The kid is like 21 or 22 and is making a good 500K a year or so. I think he's got some business sense. Missing one invoice should mean he misses one payment at most. Not missing one invoice means you never get paid for future months when you do invoice.
@FearOmnicide7 жыл бұрын
Jlizel I was adding to the fact that he was confused that he needed to make invoices in order to get paid since that kind of thing is the last you would expect from a business school student.

Thinking for your self is a key factor in life. Anyone thinking you owe anyone or anything has no clue on the whole situation of you. It's always easy on the outside looking in. Keep doing what keep you happy in life and thinking further into the future. Just started watching you this year and I'll keep following you no matter because it's interesting to me. Stay well Adam cheers.

He is doing the best he can and has taken us along with him threw good and bad. what more can you ask for. It's his life and his money that puts food on the table. I personally like to see channels change it up a bit. Atleast he has not ran out of ideas or clickbaits all the time like I've seen alot of channels do. I wish the best for you and Nicole. keep up the awesome content man

Its interesting to have the insight of someone who was so deep into the industry without being reliant on it. I remember the adam22 interview he did when LZ said "Don't you think bmx is kinda boring right now?" and I completely understood what that meant. Its reached a point where innovation really can't be done in terms of tricks or even style, so now its down to finding the best technicians in riding or the most fearless people to do the biggest moves. When everyones amazing no one is, which means the money to be distributed is getting thinner and thinner.

Good for you man. Im happy that you are finding the light in what could have been a dark tunnel, yet you still stay positive in what you do and what yoy find fun for you. You make great videos, are a good biker and have a very successful company of your own. Keep up the good work Adam.

I feel like you're not the only one stranger put on the team because you guys have a following. Seems like after they put you on they kinda start putting more people on the team that had a youtube following then actually got on for their riding skills. Not saying that in a talking shit way but I don't blame you at all for your decision, honestly makes sense really... I mean who gonna stay with a company that doesn't even pay you but yet they are getting free advertising and making ton of the money off product that is being sold because of you. And advertising a lone is expensive.

Massive respect to you Adam. You have faced this head on and dealt with it in a grown up and adult manor. You haven't taken to the forums and slagged anyone off and you haven't said a bad word against Stranger or it's owners. Best of luck with your future endeavours and your real supporters will always be there to see the adventures through.

So you were filthy that you didn't get to have the input that you wanted to have on the frame and ended up with a branded generic frame but then on the 2nd gen frame you felt like you had to contribute too much including design of graphics and such. Makes sense.

Been watching since the beginning man, as a first man myself, I think you've done amazing as far as Bmx and accomplishing your dreams. Your bmx progression has been amazing and is quite entertaining to watch. Keep up the good work, and IMO stick to the streets and get some streets edit out.
