The legacy galaxy idea is such a great one, i havent played on the old terrain but it looks pretty cool so i would like to experience it too and this would make a lot of people happy

Thank you 😄 in my mind I always asked why they didn’t just keep both terrain generation algorithms to increase variety but I now realize it’s probably due to technical/performance reasons

I love how they release trailers for these updates, really cool.

Great Video. I remember the hassle of pulsing around planets, so glad they changed this. One of my personal favorite improvements.

Thank you ED, and it was my biggest pet peeve before they changed it

NEXT was when I seriously got back into NMS. Before that I tooled around in it occasionally, but it wasn't until NEXT that it became a staple game for me.

I still wish they had been able to add this terrain generation update without changing what had already been discovered. Leaving those legacy systems as they were with new stuff only applied to new discoveries moving forward would have been cool.

I came into the game with this update, since I'm on XBox. It's so interesting to learn how much changed before I started playing. So many things I take for granted were new with Next! BTW, the loud, unexpected f-bomb in the middle of the video wasn't really necessary, was it? I watch videos in my classroom while eating lunch and there are kids around. Thankfully, I watched this at home.

It’s such a game changing update! Also Didn’t think it was that loud while editing my bad, I do not target kids as my audience but I will keep that in mind moving forward.

i wish it started like this, i disliked it so much at release that i cant get into it anymore. Looks good and all but its broken in my head beyond repair. Tried and failed

I feel like a lot of people are in that same boat! I don’t blame them, Sadly so many people had their trust broken and have such a sour taste left from the crappy state the game released in… thank you for checking out the video tho!

All that and the game is fundamentally still the same from launch, the core gameplay loop is so damn boring and monotonous once you realize all you're doing is just collecting shit for no reason really
@nolopada2 жыл бұрын
The thing is, you could say that about literally many games. I play shooters where all you do it have gunfights over and over and I enjoy those games as well. To each their own. I really enjoy the exploration in this game more than the resource collection loop. I buy what I need in space stations. I respect your opinion but I disagree
@HHTwice2 жыл бұрын
@@nolopada no, you literally can't, because in NMS literally everything in the end boils down to: gather resources, except it has become even more disjointed throughout the years due to updates and features that don't naturally mesh well with one another, making most mechanical interactions feel clunky or unfinished. The potential is there but it will never be reached so long as they keep it the same minecraft-lite, base building simulator, its a shame really the game could be something very special and not some community driven Frankenstein monster of unfinished feature creep.
@nolopada2 жыл бұрын
I’m not going to be able to change your mind just like you won’t be able to change mine. I’m obviously biased towards the game as I’ve dabbled in it since launch and dedicated a lot of time in it. And yes, I am very familiar with the features that leave a lot to be desired. My least favorite of which is the settlement system. It literally doesn’t connect with any other feature and is barebones almost like a mobile game. But I feel like some of the systems do feed into eachother in ways that are enjoyable to me. This game is not for everyone and I think it’s main issue is that it tries to appeal to the masses and be niche at the same time and it fragments it’s focus. I still love it tho despite its faults
@plo6172 жыл бұрын
@@HHTwice I love this game, but you're right. IMO, They need to hire someone experienced in make interesting/engaging gameplay loops. I'm sure that they wouldn't even need to really add much to the game. Simply utilize what's already in the game and create interesting moments with them. The game went way too heavily into the build aspect of the game, which wasn't even a a feature advertised in the game at launch. Why can't we get reachable stars at the center of star systems, planets that are hot or cold based on the distance to their star and other features that were promised?
