Starfield cannot have this feature of flight as they use the outdated Creation Engine. Thats why its only fast travel and loading time. Bethesda is also unable to create vehicles, climbing ladders etc due to their Creation engine limitations. Basically they use 20 years old technology but use marketing techniques to promote their product as "cutting edge" and sell it for 100+$.
@michaelweston409 Жыл бұрын
That’s why they never have fucking vehicles
@HeyItzScotch Жыл бұрын
Unreal engine is also over 20 years old but people think it's modern because they're very transparent with the engine and share devlogs for developers that want to use their engine. I'm quite confident Creation Engine has been experiencing the same development over the years as any other proprietary engine for their design use-case. For every triple A studio, not having a feature ( like climbing ladders, etc) is never because they don't know how; it's always because someone made the decision that they don't want to. Do you know how easy it is for a studio that big to simply "find a professional" who can help them code anything?

NMS basically ended up being minecraft in space. Elite Dangerious became jack of all trades master of none. and Star Citizen became a scam game that will never be finished. Everyone is making a first person shooter, cause programmers know how to do it. Considering it takes an average of 4 minutes to run from one point of "interest" to another in Starfield. On top of the fact that it doesn't break the flow of gameplay, unlike having to go through several menus, loading screens and animations per landing. It truly is a superior experience.
