In this Meta If you go full defence, then there are better tanks than him If you go full damage , he can't one shot and there are better exp laners than him He is fun but the main reason behind his low pick rate is there are better options than him In current meta ,He is used only as a counter pick

​@@o7.oliver as a roamer he is good when the enemy uses set up tank especially khufra. his job is to open the maps with his 1st skill and near a wall to gain cc immunity. and use your ultimate to initiate/counter initiate. tho there are better tanks his powerspike is in early to mid (00:00-10:00) he has lots of plain physical defense form passive and his 1st and ult base damage is huge for a tank. he can be countered by using either support roamers, suppress roamers, and lots of magic damage. i reccomend using zhask/valen as mage and natan/moskov as mm.

I think a better adjustment for Grock would be to make his first ability to tap to charge and tap again to release instead of holding it so he can make use of charging it and using flicker to get to the enemy and deal damage with it

Something about the wall mechanic makes me itch my head, occasionally I never even use it on something else, I only use it to secure kill but never reach the level of what the pros did in mpl, I only saw them using it to either block the path or change the lord pathfinding and wave management. I’m not saying like he’s hard, it’s really fun dealing massive damage to squishies and also ignoring cc oriented enemies and I also don’t want moonton to make him simple, that would cause a lot of outrages for me and the people that play Grock, just like Zhask ended up failing miserably after the revamp.

For one, there are better options than him. Go full Tank build? I'd argue Hylos can tank better Go full Damage build? He'd have to use all of his skills to even kill a squishy opponent. He relies on walls, and a pro player will avoid walls with this guy around. He also doesn't have anything against magic damage, as his passive doesn't give him that. He also lacks mobility, as his Ult is used for initiations.

"I wonder why his pickrate is so low" Well, the main benefits of META roamers are that they are either extremely mobile, extremely tanky/sustainable by their own, or they have high CC capabilities. Grock, despite being a pretty solid tank, he doesn't have much when it comes to opening team fights, is pretty slow and doesn't have any abilities to help him in prolonged fights where he has to protect his teammates in an instant or tank/sustain a lot of damage. Though he is extremely punishing for heroes that don't have blink skills or don't cooperate well with their team. Granted, this is a bit of a double-edged sword because non-meta heroes thrive on low mobility/sustain heroes in general.

As a mlbb player for 3 years, this are my thoughts on why grock has low pick rate. He is not you conventional Fighter or Tank. Think about it. When you play YZ, you get an idea on what to do on esme, lapu, arlott. Not in grock, you never directly fight your enemies Even as a tank you don't have explosive engage like Atlas, tigreal or mino. Your more like a zoner who punishes aggressive plays. The wall is the best example of this, you have to play around it, not the easiest thing to do you need good macro and micro knowledge which few players actually have.

Target only squishy heroes like mm and don't be scared of moskov becos grock can immune moskov second spell if you use first spell and Grock can counter using his ulti to delay Claude ultimate and even Odette ultimate . Grock gotta do surprise attack in group like hororo chan did in this video she used flicker + ultimate combo and without surprise attack or them not doing well in group fight then Don bother to fight . In early game level 1 /2 try to irritate exp lane like lapu lapu , Badang , Aldous and after you make them low hp you can kill them ,that is why I get kills in early game I get first blood cus of grock but don't try to irritate heroes like tank or Dyroth, Phoveus and Masha cus they can sustain your damage and can deal alot of damage . In gold lane also you can irritate the mm and can get kills but don't irritate heroe like Melissa cus her spell is long range + nice damage

The map is made of walls wdm, even turrets counts as walls, lord turtle spawning area too. His own wall too.

@@KiKichirou do you think players are dumb enough to go near the wall? You have to time it perfectly to maximize your ult. Khufra has low pick rate too, he has the same problem with Grock, you need a wall to land a perfect ult. Tigreal doesn't need that, Minotaur doesn't need that.

@@tutortle1820 My Khufra have 76% winrate on solo q. I don't have problem with using my ult go on pracrise mode and see that only between exp and gold lane his ult can't reach walls. Only that little space, which is rare to find enemy. Usually enemies are found under their turret, on creep, or under ally turret. If you use 1 skill on enemy that is in "blind wall space" then its for 2 reasons. Ally is low hp and you give em chance to escape, when enemy follows then they have to go near wall. The 2 reason is enemy and ally are low hp, ally with that airbone can finish enemy easly. So there is no problem with his ult at all. You just have to wait all enemy cc, cause Khufra ult is not immune to cc, or try to jump on enemy with cc or ult flicker combo. Remeber Khufra ult is taking enemies from behind too, so its aoe is not that small as it seems.

i pick this only when enemy pick fanny in rank mode OR only play in 5 men game, because solo rank this hero cant communicate well
