I love this pattern and video, so easy to follow! I got my pattern last week and just finished the quilt top. I used similar colors but used a goldish yellow for the accent strips. I have some black Pittsburgh Steelers fabric to back it with. My father-in-law will love it for Christmas!! Thanks again for such a great video and pattern!

My girlfriend and I made this quilt at our last quilt retreat and mine was ok but she had a mean curve to hers. Her sewing in one direction made the fabric slant to one side we decided to fix this the next time we would pin and sew from opposite direction like you do the strips

I LOVE YOUR PRESENTATIONS!!!! You are such a great presenter and love the way you teach how to make the quilts. I am a "weekend" quilter and have been quilting for about 5+ years and just found you from another KZbin channel, Jordan Fabrics who uses your patterns, and I decided to see if you had tutorials...AND YOU DO!!! Daniella, you are amazing and I hope to meet you one day to tell you that in person! Great Job!

I enjoy your videos. I do have a question on this one. I follow what you are demonstrating but my question is regarding sewing the pieced strips together at the end. When you initially sew strips together you alternate the direction so as to avoid bowing. However if I understand correctly when you sew the pieced strips together from the A and B you do not alternate your sewing direction (other than when you sew up and down on background section) plus you just keep adding on to the strip set rather than doing it in pairs etc which seems like a lot of fabric to be dealing with plus potential bowing. Would it not work to place all the pieced strips from both sets in order, then strip by strip cut top background piece after aligning fabric according to paper strip directions, sew to bottom of strip and then place back strip back on quilt wall and build the pattern BEFORE sewing sewing long strips together. Then you can sew in pairs and then alternate sewing direction? Would doing it this way create problems that I’m just not seeing? Thank you

Are you able to sew sets into tubes before cutting, it seems like it may make the sewing back together piece easier but I cant quite figure out how to accomplish this yet

This is really the same principle as the 20-24 fabric Trip Around the World - except I hand-picked all the neutral fabrics from yardage, and not jelly rolls / bali pops. So if touve ever done one of those, this bargello would be easier as a result.

I was puzzled at first as to how to sew on the A, & B paper pattern strips. I think I understand you cut the pattern paper set apart then lay the A set across the width of the first fabric strip set and cut the B papers apart and lay across the top of the B strip set. Is that it?

I bought this pattern and went to together pretty easy, however when I finished it was very wonky, kinda like adding borders before measuring, just sew and cut and that is where the wonkiness comes in, it was hard for me to keep my top and bottom even sewing this way, will I make it again, not sure but I do know that there is no way I can quilt this square, the outside will be square but the seam going across are going to be way off, if someone can tell me where I went wrong I surely would appreciate it.

Hi,did I miss how you get the different widths. okay you cut all of the strips 2 inchs wide. Then you sew them together in rows as the color run. then you sew the strips together in different seam widiths instead of cutting them first to differing withs?, What is the difference in the instructions by Ms. Edie? I want to do a Bargello very bad so, I guess I'll have just try it with some fat quarters first.
@teresarogers34339 жыл бұрын
discoverever She explained that you sew the paper to the fabric and then you cut it according to the lines on the paper. Those lines on the paper are the different widths. You get them when you cut the strips apart.

i get bargello, but this project is not for beginners. first, there are way too many color rows. that needs to be simplified drastically. secondly, the explanation is way too unclear. the technique here is the one i use, but the way she's showing it here i imagine those women are thoroughly confused.

Well presented, as usual, DS. you presented the pattern and offered a general run through of how it is made, bargellos do take some wrapping the brain around until the AHA moment happens, lol. :-)... when this design came out it was quite an amazing accomplishment. it revolutionized and simplified the complex traditional bargello pattern process. I have been looking for a pattern for a bargello quilt.. i am more of a beginner sewer, but found most of your video to be understandable. I have read a few directions on other websites on how a bargello quilt is made, and encourage others to do some research too. I plan on buying individual fabrics and cutting the wof strips myself. What I would like to know, is how much background fabric is needed for a throw size quilt? And for a twin size? And what are the strip measurements? 1- 1 1/4- 1 1/2- 1 3/4. - 2, etc... or , where can I find your strips that get sewed on? Thank You so much for sharing your video with us. Much appreciated.
