I've watch this video several times and I'm not sure if Mark knows how valuable this is for us hunters to see. Many of us have land and are wanting to do this type of thing but are not always sure of what to do. These type videos our invaluable to us. Thank you for taking the time to do this type of thing. It is very much appreciated.

I've always been a bit on the fence about Mark, bit there is no doubt that in watchimg this video, he is putting the work in. a lot of people talking trash about how nice it must be to have unlimited money yada yada yada...there is nobody holding you down. Go get you some. Its obvious from this video that this dude is a work horse. work hard...big rewards. Its just that simple...if you're watching his videos and complaining about " must be nice to be rich" TURN THE COMP OFF AND GET YOU SOME. Big props to Mark for putting hard work in and getting to harvest the fruits of his labor. This video definitely gave me a new found respect for him.
@mohunter686 жыл бұрын
You hit the nail right on with that comment. I met Mark at Bass Pro Shop in Columbia, Mo. once and to me he was a Celebrity, but he spoke to me like I was his neighbor, Super nice guy and much taller than he looks in his videos.

Yeah, it's easy to watch the videos he puts out and assume that he is just hunting low pressure private land deer that most of us "average Joe's " will never have the opportunity to hunt. That being said...this video really puts into perspective the work that he is putting in to have the opportunity to hunt deer like that. Not really my cup of tea, I'm a die hard public land guy. I love the challange of going in and hunting big, old, smart public land giants, but I darn sure respect Mark and his crew for making happen what they make happen. The great thing about this beautiful country we live in is that there are unlimited opportunities to make your dreams come true. Hard work mixed with a little good luck and we all have the same opportunities to make it happen. Every day we wake up, we all have the chance to make our dreams come true...the difference between people like Mark and the people that talk trash is that instead of talking trash, Mark goes out and bust his butt every day to hunt the way he wants to hunt. Nobody holding anyone down in this country...GO GET YOU SOME.

".there is nobody holding you down. Go get you some".(regarding money, and the opportunity to make it) Those days are long gone. The day of the go getter and the hard worker are dead. And unless you are willing to take on debt just to build up credit, good luck getting a loan to start a business. With that said I don't hate on anyone who has big money and tons of free time, wish it was me. I'll hit the lottery one day, then I can really make some big money.

Obama Colluded With Putin . That's a cop out. I started out working for minimum wage doing construction right out of high school. Worked odd jobs my 20s and into my 30s. Eventually worked my way up to being a project manager for a big commercial construction company. We have had ads out for a year now looking for guys. Sure its hard work but we do 90% prevailing wage work. My field guys usually are making at the very minimum 40$ an hour. We would be happy to take someone with no experience who showed up every day and was willing to learn. There is a big problem in this country with people having the exact attitude you are displaying. Not trying to talk trash to you but if you think there are no opportunities in this country you must be hiding from them. I have had MAYBE 10 responses to ads...IN A YEAR.

By far one of the most educational channel's on KZbin. You guys are amazing at what you do. I hope one day to own my own land and put your practices to use.. We have 600 acres in Wisconsin that is family owned but the guy's who own it would never do this kind of stuff. They only want the timber to grow for money. We have no food plot's or water and now because of everyone around us doing plots.. No deer.. Just bears wolves coyotes bobcats and a mountain lion. Put in almost 200 hours on stand last year and saw 9 deer the whole time.. 25yrs ago Id see 50-100 every weekend. Over hunting and the dnr flooding the market with tags has decimated Wisconsin's deer herds. Maybe it's time to move and find land elsewhere. .

Mark, that was quite a piece of habitat engineering. The local wildlife likely appreciate the food and cover you efforts provided. I’ve got one question regarding your use of bait piles to do camera surveys. With what we know about the spread of disease between deer when they are concentrated, isn’t there some other way to survey the deer without the risk of spreading CWD etc? Thanks for the education in property enhancements. Its inspirational!

Question for Mark and DODTV. I have a 90 acre lease in TN. It’s land locked on all sides with only one access. The field road going to my gate is nothing but crop fields and it’s my only way in. My question is since I have a good tower blind on the back side in a hay field with lots of cedar trees in it the hay is around knee high in the fall and I was wondering if it would hurt to drive all the way back thru the property and park when the winds right to walk to that blind instead of walking all the way through the property to get to it?I know the deer will tolerate some vehicle traffic over human traffic. I’ve drove through fields just to have them come back out after I go through. With no back access to that stand I figured driving to the back and a short walk to the blind with the wind right would be better than walking all the way through the farm. It’s mainly a observatory/rifle set anyway. Could be a bow set on occasion. Your thoughts !!! Plz

This video proves to all the haters out there that Mark doesn't just sit back and let someone else do all the hard work, he and Terry have worked their tails off over the years to get where they are at. The Proof and Success are in the videos they make when they harvest the fruits of their labor. What I think is the coolest thing ever is All the friends and family that they've taken out and allowed to hunt with them so it's not just about themselves or the Almighty dollar. One side note you may not know about Mark is that he is a Champion Turkey Caller and an Absolute Gobbler Assassin!

Must be nice to have 100s of thousands of dollars to buy all that land, have equipment to carve out plots like that, all to get some deer and turkeys... I'd do it if I had that much scratch.
@LdHrothgar6 жыл бұрын
And just to be clear, I don't begrudge him doing it... it's his money, he can do what he wants... but as someone that bought 20 acres where I can afford it and is doing improvements on the weekends when I have the time and extra cash... it would sure be nice to have some of that gear, I could use a dozer or tractor to clear plots, make trails, mow, seed...

Sadly my place is in the eastern Ozarks, almost down into the boot heel so I I'm not likely to pull big bucks, I'll be lucky to fill my tags, but I'm working on improving the chances. John Thao why ?????
@bendrixbailey14306 жыл бұрын
Without a doubt. Year after year, the deer just come to the same food, you shoot the same shot. Reminds me of a story where hell for a deer hunter was to shoot the same deer over and over again never leaving the stand for eternity. I have a wheat plot that I bring novices to because it is exciting and rewarding for them, but I don’t hunt it and won’t let anyone hunt it for more than a season. If you don’t get out and scout natural movement, sit out the uncertainty of a trail (away from the food plot) and experience the pleasure of learning how a deer lives, you’ll miss out on the best part of deer hunting. Food plots serve a purpose, but perpetually hunting over one would be hell for me.

@DruryOutdoors6 жыл бұрын
water is pretty key to getting deer to stay in and around your location. do you have the space or resources to make a small pond on the property? like most animals, food and a water source are going to be the top things on their list of needs.
@williamlittle28146 жыл бұрын
Yes we have plans for a pond to be dug before summer hits and dries up all the low areas currently holding scant amount of temporary water and we put in a 2 acre food plot but only have barely gotten white clover to become established. That is why I would like some feedback on an arial photo to help get and go in the right direction

No... HUNTING over bait in Missouri is illegal. You can feed them as long as you're not hunting within 10 days after removal of bait. And minerals are okay. It's legal here to hunt over minerals. Not saying it's recommended up there in CWD areas, but it's perfectly legal.
