I’ve generally been gutted with this team, but a playmaker like giddey is what this team potentially needs. How many times have we complained “ay coby missed vooch underneath the basket” or “hey they missed pwill cutting to the basket.” Recency bias is the reason why people are hating on this move

Giddey is a solid prospect. It’s all down to how we rebuild around our young core and ensure we don’t have a leaky defense that cancels out any offensive progress. It would’ve been good to have a 2-way player but maybe Giddey can grow into that role using his size. Only time will tell but as it stands this defense is a shambles.

I think he's got to go. If we're going to be a younger team we've got to get shots for younger guys. We need to see more Phillips, Terry, *new rookie* and Sanago. Letting Demar go is a part of that. We've got to try and get Vuc gone too or at least reduce his minutes. Baring something drastic were going to be taking a step back this year and doing into a heavily anticipated 2025 class we've got to know who is going to be part of the next phase of this team.

Okc is more desperate, too. For a title. The motivated kind of desperate. But it didn't stop us trading a valuable asset for a player we don't really NEED and getting no pick. So we have no AC, no pick, and a player we don't need for our play in team. Thats great. I've no issue with the player swap but if SAC or anyone were offering a pick and salary player for AC? Thats the deal to take imo. Josh is not much of an asset atm. I hope some good comes out of all this but the way we do business is not good. The FO, our new coaches, Billy Donovan...everyone needs to do better. Josh could turn God Level on this stinker and he'll be like Young in Atlanta or Fox in SAC. Adrift without a paddle. I'd like this team to be GOOD one day. Will Giddey be our fearless leader? You see that in him? Got passed up and carried in Okc. For whatever reason...it happened. We need to tighten up.

Hot take - I wouldn’t be mad to see Zach play some with Giddey + Coby. Let Demar walk. If Giddey can get the ball to them they can both basically score at 3 levels and run. The defense could be shaky though, but it’s kind of a trade off. In this scenario (in my mind) P will resigns and focuses defensively (3 & D), we dump Vuc anyway possible, draft a solid defensive/rebounding big at 11, get drum back and Ayo come off the bench 6th man and increase Julian + Dalen’s role. Then see what you got and go from there. Again just a hot take. This team needs a lot!!

So I get the concern paying Giddey and his contract but what if they get rid of Lavine, Demar, don’t sign P Will I feel they should have money right? Then Vuc contract off the books in a few years and we have next year draft pick if we can keep our pick i think we in decent shape money wise. I think Demar gone tbh. The money isn't the concern. They'll have the money. The point was more so they put themselves into a situation they have one season to evaluate Giddey before having to sign him into what could be a large extension.

The Bulls are giving Zach half a season to prove that his tension with Billy and DeMar over style of play was warranted. The addition of Giddey means tempo sped up and a play style that fits Zach. Going younger fits Zach. And if at the deadline it doesn't work Zach will have a better market and will be traded. Bulls tank second half to keep their 2025 pick

they should trade everyone. vuc, derozen, lavine, white, pwill and ayo. get as many picks back as you can get. tank for 2 years. draft holland, knecht or topik this year. giddy, holland plus 2 top 5 picks in the next 2 years plus a ton of draft space and picks would make the bulls a legit team by 2026.

​@@johnbrennan4449 why do they need to keep these young players? none of them are star building blocks. Ayo and Pwill are 3 and D role players. Coby is a 6th man. if you can get great value for them you might as well do it. Giddy has a chance to be a building block starters. Teams are built around a Ball handler, a wing Scorer and a Big. Giddy can be that Primary Ball handler. By keeping Pwill, Ayo and Coby we end up eating up 40-60M in salary cap space. Also, we'll end up winning more games and lower our chances of getting the #1 pick in back to back years. thats what the bulls need to do. on the flip side, if we have Giddy, Ron Holland, Ayo, Pwill & Coby and somehow get a top 3 pick in back to back years then our future superstars will have more talent around them to accelerate our return to prominence. The bulls basically need a big like Weby, Chet or Sarr. and they need a PG like Luka or Ja. those types of players dont grow on trees and you have to tank hard to get them.

It's too many fans who say they want a blowup and ignore to context of why OKC is where they are. They also got Shai, Drafted 11, who looked like a good but not Superstar "face-of-the-league" level baller. Be careful what yall ask for cause you gonna get more Jerian Grant and Zipser days like most "blow it up" teams do. OKC's blueprint took a generational talent (Russ), a decade defining player (Paul George), and a once in a lifetime trade scenario (Kawhi wanting to go Clips ONLY if PG is there.) Us blowing it up won't get us where OKC is, especially since as good as Shai was, there was zero indication he would become a superstar, mvp-level player. We could blow it up and be the Pistons.

I want DeMar to be resigned. He loves bball and has shown to be a team player/leader. He took all of the young guys under his wing, even training with them over the summers. After the Cavs game, he went to the laptop with Coby to talk through the last 2 minutes- that’s a valuable vet. He would probably be a good defender too if he didn’t have to play 40 mins a night.
