The simplest ideas are often the best Peter. Nice 👍🏻 job. Looks like Mylar (?), that's used on CNC cabinets. Enjoy 😊 mate. I love the R59, but I couldn't part with my JCW R58 Coupe ........ or , maybe I could find room for another. Hmm 😒 no that would mean three MINIS & that would be a bit greedy. lol

My question to you would be what kind of weenie buys a convertible to ride around in with the windows up and top down? The whole idea of a convertible is to mess up your hair although mine is quite short. That having been said, my hair still doesn't get messed up as badly in my Mini Roadster as it did in our Lotus Esprit SE Jim Clark Edition at about 140 MPH, and you will never see a Lotus Elise driver cruising around with the windows up and the top off.

Hi Pete, bit of a long time ago now since you did this video! What's your long term verdict of this, and the Bridget Jones hair. Did this reduce the back draught for Mrs petroped significantly? Looking at taking the roadster 600miles north for the nc500 and wondering whether to invest 🙂

Hi Nick. There is a joint between the plastic chrome hoop and the black plastic inner. It clips it perfectly :-)

Nick Horton they are lasercut. Made a lot of prototypes before I had the perfect size. You click them through the smallest side of the bars toward the front rubber. So no cracking or friction which gives extra noise. You see in Peter his video: taking of the protection film cost more time than inserting the screens. As well what Peter mentions: I put my GoPro suctioncup on them and drive on the circuit in this way! Works perfect.

@@Louisvdd76 Fellow Dutchy here: great little invention mate! Love it. Don’t own a roadster myself so can’t use them. Was thinking of some added possibilities with these. If these are cut from PMMA you can engrave some custom logos in it. If you then edge lit the base with red LED’s and link those to the brake lights you have two extra custom break lights with personalised logos ^^

Had to take them off when I wrapped my roll over hoops. They won’t fit now and I miss them 😢
