Thanks a lot. I did it in about 2 hours. My only doubt is that I used glue on the home button bracket, which may not work so well… buying a little Tessa tape would be sensible. My tip would be that after heating up the edges of the glass with a hairdryer (or better tool) take a lot of care removing the screen around the home button, as the strip could get damaged. There’s a sense of nihilism when all the glass starts cracking and violence can set in, but don’t rush - removing the screen and glass is the most time consuming and unpleasant part. If all connectors and brackets are preserved once the glass is off, the rest is totally doable with this top man’s instructions.

Good video! Just one thing: you should not put a battery blocker under the connector itself, although it is plastic you can still damage the pins. Just drop some IPA under the board next tot the pins and slide your blocker under the board itself!

The glass was shattered, I severed a cable, the home button kinda sticks out so I’m sure it’ll break again soon BUT thanks to you it’s working for now. Maybe if I watched the video first and took my time I’d have done better but that’s really not my style.

I get with With my new screen that I purchased, I also received a new Home button, which is recommended to use? (Has new touch ID) As far as we know, every touch ID is identical

Use your old button, as the iPad is programmed to recognize that specific one only (security reasons). Your new button will work, but the fingerprint feature will not be available.

Looks like you have actual glass on fromt of your ipad 9 gen.. how? I bought mine brand new from best buy and the front screen ( without screen protecter) appears to be made of plastic.. like what gives? I thought the ipads had glass screen on the front… can someone explain and help me understand

It’s not that bad really, I work with Lipo’s every single day and I’ve only ever had one Lipo fire in my entire life. I put them in competition grade off road RC cars that take jumps up to 35ft and land on concrete. I’ve punctured dozens of batteries and all that happens is they stink and they stop working, sometimes they puff up a little. I mean, unless you’ve got it charged right to the max and you really stab it… like an absolute retard, they’re pretty safe.

yes im a kid and i cracked my ipad 9 and my dad bought an screen to fix it. when he reached the battery step, he thought you pry on the battery not put something under it. So now the ipad is boot looping and we dont know what to do. Kinda of a waste of money. There goes 250 pounds. (Edit i actually fixed it but i accidentally ripped the rear camera and the home button but touch id still works.

I know you might have gotten a new iPad already but if the tablet is already bootlooping you should probably get a new battery or make sure the battery is connected properly if it’s not pryed badly.
