Thank you for the review. I just recently bought this system and when I did a comparison with my usual cable, I found that the wireless system had a little gray noise when playing. Being silent otherwise. Also, some low end was lost compared to playing with my usual cable. Gear: Fender 5 string P, Mark bass minimark and a boss cable/joyo wireless guitar system.

Thanks for the comments, it's greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, my JOYO wireless has stopped working. I think I got about 2 years out of it.

I have been looking around for a wireless system. I had a shure wireless but sold it years ago. Maybe this would be a good option for rehearsals or small gigs. Thanks!

I haven’t used these in particular but I have 3 wireless systems I use on a regular basis. I have a boss wireless on my acoustic pedal board I have a lekato uhf set that I use for around the house and then I have a back up Nux 5.8 gighrz with a self charging case that I carry around as a backup.. but have never had to use for that other than when the home burning around one’s die They all work really well although my boss one dosent charge when you dock it anymore it still has a usb port to charge it ourside the dock and that’s what I use now. I’ve never had an issue with them dying while playing out. I play with my chuch band some Sundays as well and we have practice that starts about an hour and a half before, then we play at the Begining of services and at the end of them and I’ve yet to have my wireless die even when I haven’t charged them for a few weeks and done multiple open mics and gigs. I’m lazy and forgetful it’s why I carry a backup lol

@@rockoutvideography91 it took me a while as well, I still have cables but not as many as I use to. More a cheapish insurance policy than anything else

I just noticed this post from 6 months ago. Sorry, as the channel grows, it's more challenging keeping up with comments. Did you grow up in the neighborhood? We were all Horizon HS grads back in that band

I ordered a pair a week ago. They work well with no latency. There is a hiss that I get as soon as I turn them on. To myself and people I’ve showed them to they don’t sound as good as cables. For $50 whatever. I just bought them for noodling around the house but I definitely would not record with them. Maybe I received a bum set?

Thanks for watching and commenting. I have not encountered any issues with "Hiss" or other interference from mine. It's possible something's wrong with your set, or you could be experiencing interference from something else near the same frequency, since the bandwidth is close to what other wireless devices use. At least that's the theory as I understand it from my limited research on the subject. Does this happen everywhere you use them? Have you tried them in other rooms or buildings other than your own? Although I'm fine gigging with mine, I will always bring a cable just in case there are unexpected issues at the venue. I wouldn't record with the unit's, at least not in the studio. The tone that came out of the original Shaffer wireless systems is probably something unique to those units, which is why someone went to the trouble of contacting Ken Schaffer when trying to recreate the sound in a piece of outboard gear. I don't hear any difference between the wireless and a cable. However, my ears are old and it's possible I'm missing something in the really high frequencies that other people can hear.

@@rockoutvideography91 I tried different configurations on several amps and guitars. Shut off all power to everything except the amps. Turned off all wireless devices including main wifi router. Still hissing sound. Funny thing is it’s the low end I’m missing in sound. Maybe I’ll try exchanging them?

Were all these tests conducted in the same room or building? I'm not trying to impersonate an expert in radio frequency technology, but I'm curious if there's interference coming from something near your house. It's probably easier to just return them and try another pair, possibly from someone else? If the problem persists, you have the opportunity to conduct experiments. Experiments are fun!

Is it feasible for an active bass guitar ??
@rockoutvideography91
@rockoutvideography91 6 ай бұрын
I do not own an active bass so I could not perform a test. Having said that, I was curious, so I did some quick research (Maybe 10 minutes). There are conversations on the gear forums about the small wireless units like these having issues with some active basses. I did not see anyone actually say this had happened to them personally, just that they have heard about it. There seem to be 2 main causes for interference that are proposed. 1. The signal from an active bass may be too hot. The common response is obvious, turn down the volume knob on your bass. 2. Because the transmitter is so close to the preamp, there is RF interference from the preamp. My personal thought on this is to buy a short (12 inch?) Male / Female 1/4" instrument cable and connect the tranmitter to that mounted on the back of your strap, maybe with velcro? I'm planning to make something like this for my basses with the input jack on the bottom / side like a telecaster. I guess you could take a chance and try my proposed modification if you have issues? It's your dime. Let us know how it turns out if you do decide to gamble. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Just returned this after 2 weeks. The hiss is very annoying and I used to get a lot of dropouts, although I was so close to the receiver. Latency and battery life were acceptable. Would never gig with it.

I never had any issues with drop out or hiss with mine, while they were working. I wonder how much the “Radio Frequency”environment in different places, regions and countries effects these kinds of units, especially the ones like these that use common wi fi frequencies. It could be that I was just really lucky and the 3 places I used them most just didn't have any interference issues? Unfortunately, One day I turned them on and they just didn't work anymore. They turn on, but there is no signal going to the amp. I tried “re - pairing” the transmitter and receiver several times since that can be a common fix, no luck. I really need to do another Q and A so I can address the long term issues that have come up with some of the gear I have reviewed and continued to use. Sorry the wireless didn't work out for you, especially if I helped convince you to buy them. Thanks for taking the time to watch and share your experiences in the comments. It's important to share multiple experiences so people get a better idea of how this gear works. I bought a new unit from a different brand that works on a different frequency. I'll review that one when I have had a chance to test it out for awhile.
