Great timing on yhis video. My ac compressor clutch grenaded itself last year and I've been researching what i need to replace and what I can just flush out 💪🏻❄️

When you fail to vacuum the system you leave air and trace moisture in the system. Air doesnt turn into a liquid when compressed. Basically you have little air bubbles in the heated compressed liquid phase of the refrigerant, and that reduces efficiency of the heat transfer in the condensor and when it hits the orifice or expansion valve. But if its at least charging it to the proper level its better than what it used to be.

Since there was some pressure in the system, I'm guessing he has a small leak in an o-ring somewhere. He needs to do a leak check. Black light or sniffer tool check Now if he opened the system when transferring the parts, he needed to run a vacume on it for a while to get any possible moisture out. There is a chance that the a/c system is original to the car and just moved the compressor still connected to the lines while installing the drivetrain

@@jamessmoth8683 I agree with that 100%. I like running vacuum and checking for leaks while using a borescope camera for the evap core. Some people actually do come in every month and pay for the recharge service instead of paying 4-12 hours of labor to replace an evap core.

That was an interesting commercial. A very handy way of topping up the AC for just the cost of the device.

You should vac down the system 1st, check it holds vac for a minute or so and then recharge with gas.

Looks like you didn't purge the air out of the line before adding refrigerant. I understand the convenience of using one of those cans and not wanting to hook up manifold gauges or a vacuum pump, but I prefer to at least use manifold gauges to be sure it's done right.

2016+ vehicles sold in the US market had to be R-1234yf. Which is run by the Dupont/Honeywell/Chalmers price fixing cartel with government support. Its *very* expensive stuff so A/C Pro probably isn't willing to part with it for demos.
