Same reasons we stream on GC with an iPhone. Go Pros is used for recording 4k video for player hi light clips (most times).Todays GC software does a great job with player clips editing after the game is really not needed. No Go Pros in the game streaming kit this year.

GameChanger with Larix is the move. You get to keep the entire game saved in 4k on your device or the cloud (using the best lens out there) but also stream to GC at the same time keeping the score board and clips.

I used a GoPro 9 for over two years live streaming with Game Changer. Rarely had any issues. Incorporated Pocket Radar... and still ran flawlessly for another 2 years. Upgraded to GoPro 11 and I have not been able to maintain a live stream. GoPro support is shit! I finally got a possible answer as to why it kept disconnecting. I would set up to stream at 720p with a solid Verison 5G MifI; They said the new GoPros will automatically adjust to 1080p if it has a strong signal. I've asked them (via secondary support ticket) if you set 720p but they won't reply. I now have 2 Mevo Starts and I intend to continue to live stream with Game Changer. Now I need help!

Hello, I cannot comment on the live streaming aspect because I record in 4K and post the games afterwards. For now I live stream on Game Changer using an iphone. I have ran into some of the issues you mentioned like over heating (using internal battery) and recording in the rain. But for the most part I rarely have any overheating using an external battery. I do tend to cover my gopro with a hat or something to deflect the direct sunlight and rain. As a result, I haven't experienced any issues when recording in about low 90's temps. If the temps get above 95, I will tend to use 2k or 1080 to decrease risk of overheating. I would be interested in what you consider as an alternative solution for streaming. For now, I really like the 4k on gopro because it allows me to digitally zoom in some without distorting the picture much when backstops are far back. An optical zoom on a camera would be nice.

The only camera with ip rating for rain built for streaming is a new offering from Aicoco. The software is a work in progress but if they get it finished it will be nice.

The GoPro has always sucked for streaming. Interface is way too difficult to use. I use it alongside my streaming cameras to record the game in a much higher quality, and then I cut the video up later - usually just trim to the start / end of the game, sometimes I'll drop the scoreboard from SidelineHD over the top of the video.

Im very new to the streaming game. But i seem to be the only parent will to stream my daughters hockey games. Our season just ended but im trying to find ways to up the value for next year. Currently its just my phone on a tripod on Facebook live. Do you have any recommendations? They are all indoors and pretty cold temperatures. Im also trying not to break the bank. Thanks

Hi Jason, I am a big fan of yours. Thanks to your videos I learned a lot about streaming and equipment. But I have to disagree with this video. I use GoPro cameras in my baseball live streaming, and it’s my go to camera. I use GoPro 10 with media mod connected with hdmi to yolobox ultra with external battery powering it. Typically I use 2 or 3 cameras in a stream. During fall season we play double headers with 15 minutes break and sometimes I stream for 4.5 hours with no issue. In the three years doing this I never had issue with overheating and in fall with rain worked perfectly, living in Cleveland we get a lot of rain in fall. I know you are a big Mevo guy, and I used Mevo cameras in my first year, but they are not water resistant at all. Keep up the great work and thanks for all the videos you post

GoPro with media mod to Yolobox. That’s a very intriguing setup. I tried the same (Yolobox pro, not ultra) a couple seasons ago and had trouble keeping a consistent picture from the GoPro. But your experience is encouraging. Thank you for taking the time to share!!

Jason, thank you so very much for your videos. I have a question for you if you have a moment. We are in the beginning of my sons' 1st travel baseball season and I have been tasked with being in charge of game changer. We have an existing GoPro 9 (which I have never been able to get working as advertised) and I have been attempting to use the GoPro (because of all the money already spent on it) to stream the games through game changer. I have had issue after issue with this setup (could be the operator for sure). Would you have a simple recommendation for single camera setup for a newbie? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Erasiest, most reliable will be the Mevo Start. Mevo has worked with GC to make it easy to go live on their platform. Once you are comfortable with it you can expand what you do without changing equipment or breaking the bank.

I've always used my phone, bought a GoPro to live stream and was never able to get it to work right. What is everyone else using to live stream there kids games?
@JasonHoffmanYT7 ай бұрын
At this point there is a wide variety of cameras available to the hobby streamer. Mevo has the best software hands down. And the best camera in the Mevo Core (if you can invest $$). NearStream has a very nice picture quality and optical zoom. Obsbot has a very good 4k sensor and PTZ feature. Emeet has the budget answer for live streaming.
