Sorry to hear that some friends weren't so nice about you having a KZbin channel. I really enjoy your videos, and have learned a lot from them. I watched until the end, though if I'm being honest, it took me about an hour or so since I'm watching this in the morning, and I like to make coffee and go outside for a smoke etc.. The video wasn't too long though, seemed fine.

Your channel might be one of the most helpful on all of KZbin for anyone interested in these kinds of products and projects. Personally, I had no idea how to build any type of user interface before I found your channel, and you are the only one teaching the things I need to learn. If some of your friends don't like that you're working as a pioneering teacher on KZbin, I'm sorry, but I wouldn't call them your friends since they clearly want you to hide your best qualities. You should let it all out! By the way, your ukulele project was also great. Don't think you're just "explaining something simple." What you're teaching is not simple at all, but somehow you manage to do it in relatively short videos with a calming voice, and you're always on point. It's easy to watch your videos without skipping anything because everything is always nice and relevant. Thank you! We need more people like you on KZbin!

"the rest are very confused" 🤣 Priceless! I wonder if using WPS mode would be a good option? It does require pressing a button on the router (which wouldn't be an option on public wifi) but it's even easier to do than connecting to the device from a phone/computer and opening the web configuration. The code could fallback to AP mode if WPS failed to join after a few attempts.

Thanks - great Video! 10 minutes is ok, if it is interesting content! About the wifi solution, did you look into using the WPS functionality to connect to WIFIs. Where you have to press the WPS button on the router, and somehow activate it on the device? While the own hotspot is a good technical solution, it will be complicated for non-tech people.

I think you can use simpler code to set the ESP32Time by using the offsets & "unix_time" fields you get from worldtimeapi instead of string parsing, probably. The rtc(offset) constructor already accepts offset and a variant of the setTime() method accepts time in milliseconds since epoch aka unix time. This could work in theory but I never work with hardware in practice and I also don't know much about C programming😅.
@hopje014 ай бұрын
If possible a would add also a fallback to manually enter the offset. You never know if this worldtimeapi service in the future will stop, or change there data layout.

The response contains UNIX time. Can you set this value to internal clock? I suspect it's what year, month, day etc. is converted to. If it's possible you can avoid parsing of data string and conversion of DateTime to integer.

yes i can probably :) Thank you!

Hey! Firstly, I would like to say that your videos are great and informative, gui looks awesome, but the code is a bit dirty. I am not saying anything about the logic or selected solutions but what triggers me the most is code formating. It looks inconsistant, some random indentations, different approach to brackets etc. I think it is the easy thing to improve especially that you can use some tools to do that automatically. Also as an idea since you work with graphics you can try some design pattern such as MVP to make code structured a bit beter. I do not want to sound negative, just my thoughts, since I believe that the code (especially shared with others) should be easily readable by other people
@VolosProjects4 ай бұрын
Thank you, you are totaly right i shod spend more time to make nicer code, i know that my code is in mess and sometimes hard to read. I will try to make it better.... but i have that problem whole life, you need to see my notebook from lower grades, nobody cant read that 😀
