Doggone it. Its so sad when the matriarch passes. Which one is the new one? I always have my favs which end up living their entire life on the farm. Usually has good input too with herd memory and teaching young stock how to be older stock. Thanks to all the ones that help us do our job. Even if its just being pretty for the camera.

Bad start to your day!. The vet will let you know what went wrong, take whatever actions needed then onward and upwards. Why was lulu on top of the hay bales?. Makes you wonder whit goes through hur heid. Another great video Crawford ( Ian as some people think) keep them coming. ATB

The only swans in the UK owned by the Royal family/the King are the swans on the Thames River the rest are free game for anyone that wants to be locked away for eating a protected species. I have eaten Swan in the late 80s early 90s when I was a wee boy and my grand uncle that loved shooting a bit of game would come up to the islands most years, and from what I remember they tasted really good

Lost 2 cows in one night years ago, mag bolus all the cows every September now only safe way. The boss cows always stop the weaker ones getting to the buckets

Gutting to lose a cow. Pretty sure it's either staggers or she looks tight as a drum which is a sign of Blackleg. Do you vaccinatate for Blackleg or feed Mag supplement? Molasses with Mag in it is much better than buckets but costs more.

@Crawfords Farm I used to work on a farm in the 80’s when BSE was in its infancy; and I thought dosing direct on to spine because of that issue; strong OP’s, drugs on to spine was then banned? If it’s for worms, why not just like equines down the throat? Thanks and apologies if question is slightly controversial

Sad to see the loss of Holly - so often in my comments to you - even as recently as the 10K episode. I know losing any animal is tough but one who has become a bit of a personality, especially on the back of the news about Percy going as well must hit hard. Hope the vet can give you a useful conclusion so that if it is anything to address within the herd you can get ahead of it. Great way of explaining what you were up to in the crush - as ever, a nice, clear and concise explanation of the reasons.
