I am already liking the idea amateur teams facing Academy players already :D

Moving to a single regular season is a good thing. The only positive thing that having two splits gave us was a natural break for transfers and free agent signings to take place. It'll be interesting to see if Riot creates a "summer transfer window" if you will where teams can make those transfers while the season is still occurring.

Nice job just uploading content Travis already put out there. This is so well thought out, and not just for views from the hype train.

I'm really hoping that this pre-season tournament is like the KESPA Cup I feel like it would help with cultivation and help get eyes on academy teams

I’ve seen people mention KESPA a lot, but I have to come in and remind you that nothing hints at a KESPA-style tournament for the kickoff, nor do I think it would even be appropriate to kick off the LCS season by watching amateur and academy teams play. Much more likely that the kickoff tournament will be by & for LCS teams only.

IMO they shouldve done this a long time ago. Traditional sports like NBA doesnt have splits and it works well for many years

The academy changes and all sound good but I feel like they’re missing a very big factor in regards to new talent cultivation. That is of course quality of Soloque itself, which is where new talent ultimately originates. No matter how many opportunities you give to academy or amateur players, it doesn’t change the fact that they originated from a weak soloque ladder.

the league itself can't do anything about it tho

@@matthewtorres9033 i think it’s the culture of the teams. I know in kr many of the top ladder slots are usually the top lck players themselves. In China too. I think the Pro players have like certain number of ranked games they need to play so they take ladder seriously. Which in turn means higher quality games in solo que. I’m sure Europe is similar. In NA I rarely hear of pro players taking ladder seriously and only some academy and pros are like top of the ladder during the season.

They should increase number of teams, and decrease number of games they face 1 another. It would increase the talent in LCS and increase broadcast hours, and make it closer to real sport leagues.

Why do they say there is no spring? Why not say there isn’t a summer split? It’s a single split, so technically there isn’t spring or summer
@joaobrito2653

@Robert Goldman thats what im saying. there is a spring or summer split, yet they only mention the lack of spring split
@cannonpalms4249

It’s zero splits, not a single split. It’s now one single season with zero splits.

@@cannonpalms4249 yeah , whatever way you want to say it, my issue is that people only talk about the 'lack of spring' when in reality things didnt even change much. you are still gonna have playoffs at the time where usually spring playoffs would be , only difference is that the whole year matters rather than only a part of it

This "mid-season tournament" with the 6 better placed teams would be almost the same thing as spring playoffs. Seems like an unecessary change to me Just keep both the splits, that's not the problem

Not really true points Will probably count up (for worlds) which means yes it kind of is but this isn't the most important part of the cup is msi and after msi the points Will keep counting up which means that the new "spring" part of the split actualy matters. Idk if this is true but I think it is i have no sources
