you are absolutely right....exemption is available only in case where supply is not made in the course or furtherance of business or for personal use.

If Your Gst Registration in Under Regular Scheme ,you have to pay GST on Rent @ 18% under Rcm basic , and if Your Gst Registration is under Composition scheme then you need not to pay GST on Rent .
