I will say ippo will return. Miyata will fight Guevara and beat him in great fashion finding his lost motivation. Ippo will school and destroy Imai setting up the match 1000 chapters since it was originally proposed in around 1700-1800. They will fight and Miyata will do amazing early but ippo will bid his time use his superior defensive and footwork techniques and then put the gas on with his body work tire Miyata out and win the OPBF strap in a hard fought match but ippo tells him I want to face you at your best not like this allowing Miyata to move up and then the two will face each other 2 times for the world title in the future one where Miyata will win and the last fight of their careers where it will end up being a draw but similar to nekota and kamogawa while they think they won that last fifth bout, ippo and Miyata believe the other man won leaving their rivalry at 2-2-1 and with both kamogawa and nekota passing away at that point. They look down at the 2’s embrace after the bell rings. That’s the dream anyway.

I feel like Ippo will fight Miyata at a catch weight ! Like Canelo and Chavez Jr. Especially since we haven’t seen a catch weight fight ever in the series!

What was the bit about "fighters that change weight classes not having fights for hundreds of chapters" about? That's extremely meta, and not a real reason for Miyata or Morikawa to do anything. IMHO real reason is that Ippo will come back as a feather weight. Miyata feels it, so he won't move out of it.

Volg came back around 400 and switched to Jr. Lightweight. We haven't seen him fight around 1000 We seen Sawamura fight at Featherweight around 400 and he switched to Jr. Lightweight and fought Mashiba around 650. I'm not saying it's a big deal or anything, I'm just stating some sort of trend.
