In today's video we will be giving the New Friends dolls from Rainbow High brand new hairstyles! The concept behind this line is that every doll has a different body type. This is Rainbow High's latest attempt at diversifying their dolls. So why not do the same thing with their hair? I decided to pick up 2 dolls from the line, Lilac Lane and Pinkly Paige and gave them both a personalized restyle! ‪@RainbowHigh‬

I liked that Pinkly has a “curvier” body type, a different looking jaw (yes thank you for a doll that doesn’t have another baby face round eyes round jaw) and some great colors - I think she would’ve looked better with more precise or subtle eye makeup and hair the same color as her eyebrows, and green or hazel eyes. Somewhat more natural features or elements of the doll can make the interesting and eye catching unnatural ones pop more. I’m also not a fan of RH’s saturated pink hair, tho this more orangey leaning shade was a step in the right direction.

My Uma doll came with the hard hair too😭 I washed and combed her hair with conditioner, the same I use on myself lol, but I think it wasn’t enough bc her hair is a mess still, very frizzy. I’m not sure what to do to fix it except maybe washing and conditioning again? It looks and feels so rough compared to my other 2 dolls 😢

I have both and Pinky I tried to make my own outfit for her. I like Pinky Page the most because frankly her body proportions could be a real person. Actually at a local festival I found someone dressed exactly the same as Pinky page default outfit glasses hair and all.

I’m not a huge fan of how much gel they put in the dolls’ hair either. My Amaya Rain doll had SO much gel in her hair that it was as hard as plaster! I’m not kidding! I had to wash her hair THREE TIMES plus an Oxyclean boil wash to get all the gel out! Talk about a pain in the ass!! MGA, please stop putting SO much gel in your dolls’ hair! They honestly don’t need it! 🙄😒
