Newborn monkeys are meant to cling to their mothers from the moment they're born. Having it alone in the middle of a cold hard floor has to be the most terrifying and uncomfortable experience for the poor baby. At least put a towel or blanket down for it to lay on and a stuffed animal or pillow for it to cling to if you're not willing to let it cling to you. Its sucking its thumb which is a sign of anxiety.

I’m sorry that we ever got a pigtail. She’s 3.5 weeks old now and we drove for over 25 total hours ONE WAY, to pick her up. We have a 9 month old male mac that we got when he was 2.5 weeks old and hasn’t given me any problems and he picked up training pretty quickly. She was 2 weeks old when we got her and it’s just been terrible. EVERY THE we give her a bath she’s 10 times worse than this one. It got to the point that I just dropped her in the middle of our hot tub and didn’t pick her up until she managed to get to the side. The next day, she was still off the hook, so now when it’s her bath time I just restrain her arms behind her. I hate doing it, but I’m losing patience with her. We tried to baby her, but then she gets worse. If it wasn’t for my girlfriend, I’d let her go, lol! I get up at 4am for work and haven’t gotten a decent nights sleep since we got her. I’m up now bcuz I had to put her in the basement with a towel over her cage in the very back and turned the lights off. One good thing, is with the door being shut, I can’t hear her from the second floor bathroom. My girlfriend works at night in an animal hospital and would kill me if she knew 😂🤣😆

Holy moly! I understand exactly what you're going through as I know a guy who has 2 and regrets it. They're older now and he has no life because of them. They are extremely destructive, jealous of others being around. Scream, throw poop, throw food. Smell terrible even getting a bath 2 times a day. You must have nerves of steel! Good luck!

If you don't like the poor monkey tell your gf maybe she can take it with her to work , she works with animals so I'm sure she loves all animals and would probably be heartbroken if she knew how your treating her monkey. Your not being honest with her that can't be good . Don't take this comment wrong you are the one that has to live with it not me but being honest could be best way to fix your problem. Just sayin!

@@bethpippin904 First of all, we live here in the US, so it wasn’t “ripped away” from its mother. The breeder where we got both of them doesn’t release them to people that are adopting them until they get weaned. She’s a reputable breeder here in the states and has been a breeder for decades. There’s a big difference between discipline and abuse. They’re a troop species, therefore coddling them every time they don’t get their way is something that you shouldn’t do, and can have an negative impact mentally on them in the long run. She took a bit longer than our longtail, but now she’s great and full of happiness. In the last year I’ve only had to cage her maybe twice if that. We don’t keep our pet monkeys caged. We use the cage for disciplinary purposes only. We didn’t want them to become comfortable in a cage, and they actually hate their cages, which is what I wanted to happen. That’s why every time they got put into their cages, I draped a black cover over them so it would make them uncomfortable with not seeing anything around them. Before we decided to actually adopt a pet monkey, we did close to 2 years of research on people that have owned their monkeys for atleast 7 years. One woman had hers for 12 years and another couple had theirs for over 15 years. That’s how I learned about the whole cage being a disciplinary tool.

What I like about him is he doesnt give a sh*t about telling you to FO !! He actually looks like he is teething here and his teeth coming up are driving hom nuts, the shower is just a bonus tantric because that's annoying for him too ! Lol he is probably starving here ! Imagine being a baby, not being able to string a sentence together ! U never will speak a sentance ...pity he couldnt give you the middle finger ! I think he was trying too, the water has to be freezing for dramatic purposes ! His hands and his lips turn blur rrs
